How do I put a password on my new hotspot

What type of hotspot? what carrier? I work for Verizon, they have a stock password that cannot be changed, you may need to contact your carrier and give them the imei of the jetpack so they can find what the password is. Unless its somewhere in the box/label/under battery..

My system is mifi jetpack 5510l with 10 gb with android tablet teame to use less data

Spend less time playing online chess outside your house where you have to connect the MiFi Jetpack to your laptop and use your data plan and more time playing at home over your home network where you do not have to use the jetpack and your data plan.

Why won't it connect to my computer?

As long as you have service and the jetpack is turned on it is transmitting a wifi signal. On the bottom right hand side of your computer screen is an internet icon--look where your time display is and this icon is just before the time. Click this internet icon and it should recognize the Jetpack signal. If it does, it will say "connections are available" right click on that and it will show available connections including the jetpack. Right click on the identified jetpack signal and then click on "connect" and enter the security key and now you should have full internet access. If, when you click on the internet icon, it does not say "connections available", then click on "troubleshoot" and let the device tell you what the issue is preventing connection.

Verizon jetpack 890L won't take a charge. I have bought a new battery and charger still won't take a charge.

Does the power button light up when it is charging? If not, either the charger, battery, or device itself is defective. It could be one of the three or a combination of two. Since it does operate while plugged in, I would try yet another battery for it sound's most likely like a dead or weak battery is the culprit.

My verizon jetpack keeps shutting off

It always helps to provide the Make and Model of Jetpack you are having issues with. Most Jetpacks have a reset button normally located under the back cover that you can hold down for 10 seconds with a paperclip to reset. You can also look at power management settings by logging into the admin page by typing 192.168.1.1 or my.jetpack in your address bar.

Got new Verizon jetpack today..have a d-link device...won't connect.....previous Verizon mi-fi worked fine????

Well, sorry to say you have struck out, first it's Verizon, then a JetPack and finally D-Link. The only way I was able to get mine working was to switch to a Cisco device for the link, drop the D-link!
