Question about Audio Players & Recorders
The power comes on and will flow through to the auxiliary component plugged into the back but the main display light does not come on and there is no sound. It doesn't appear to be getting power...there is no heat coming from the top of the unit like there normally is. Is there a fuse to replace or something simple to do to fix this?
Check the main power fuse, it is either that or the power transformer

Check the fuse, Sony is known for its random problems with sound. The one I have you must tap it on the side. Its a flicker switch inside.

Most likly bad solder connections on the display board. Look for solder rings on the LCD. You must remove the front panel to gain access.
