Coffee grinder wont start

Its been a while since i worked on a grind master so have a little patience with me. First, if the breaker went then there might be something blocking the burr chamber like a rock or screw or other obstruction. Second I would check the micro switch for the bag holder if there is one on your model using an ohms meter.

Blade will not spin

While I don't have this brand or model of grinder, (coffee beans, spices?), I use a small elec. grinder for grinding coffee beans and unless the grinder and cover or perfectly lined up and locked in place, it willnot grind, a safety feature. Check and make sure everything is lined up so it closed with all the lines in place and the grinder is also put into the lock position.

Whatever the setting is at the grind is always fine. What can I do to re-calibrate the grinder?

Grind Adjustment Tools required: Large blade and medium Phillips head screwdrivers In order to adjust the grind, follow these steps (Refer to figure A): 1. Remove all coffee from the hopper. 2. Set selector knob to the finest setting (Espresso or Turkish) depending on the model. 3. Loosen both knob retainer screws in selector knob one turn only. 4. While pressing the bag switch, located behind the spout, press the START button so that the grinder will run during adjustment. 810 model - Press the ON or START button so that the grinder will run during adjustment. 5. With the grinder still running, turn the adjusting screw in the center of the selector knob slowly to the right until a slight clicking noise is heard. Immediately turn the adjusting screw to the left one grind setting. This is the finest grind obtainable. 6. Tighten both of the knob retainer screws. Once the ESPRESSO grind has been set (Turkish for Model 835, 875, 890), the other grind settings will automatically set correctly. 7. Press the STOP or OFF button. IMPORTANT: Always be sure the grinding burrs are not touching while the machine is running on the ESPRESSO/TURKISH setting. Otherwise serious damage to the motor may result. dr_buckhead.png

Just bought a used one, seems like the espresso grind is pretty course, is there an adjustment I can make?

To adjust this grinder turn the adjustment nob to the finest setting (ESPRESSO or TURKISH) Locate 2 small set screws on the adjusting nob. Loosen these screws (do not remove them) about one full turn. Start the grinder and, with it running, VERY SLOWLY and GRADUALLY, turn the CENTER adjustment screw clockwise until you begin to hear the burrs begin to touch (whirring sound). Back off the center screw about 1/16 of a turn, shut of grinder and re-tighten the set screws. Then try the grind on DRIP or there about for brewed coffee.

With the dial turned to "Turkish" I still get a very course grind. How to adjust/fix?

On the adjusting knob there are 2 set screws (outside of the center) and an adjustment screw (the one in the middle). First make sure the LARGE screws on the side of the SELECTOR plate are tight. Start with the selector on Turkish, with the grinder OFF loosen the set screws about one full turn each. Leaving the selector on Turkish turn the grinder on and gradually VERY SLOWLY turn the center screw clockwise. Eventually you will hear the burrs inside touching. After they touch back of the center screw about 1/8 of a turn. Tighten the SET SCREWS tight as they may allow the grinder to go out of adjustment if not tight. Test the grind with very little coffee and throw those grounds out. Then grind and brew! If these grinders are adjusted too fine you may have problems with the grinds not falling and may back up.

Remove the screws on the knob with the grind setting, that pulls out and gives you access to the burrs.

Coffee beans will not grind

Your machine will probably need service. The water will cause damage to the grinder burrs.  I can send you instruction on how to clean out the grinder on a Vienna if you provide me will your email address. You can email me at support@cerinicoffee.com.

You are not the first person to do this. These problems come in at least once a week.

Hope this helps.
