Question about Gateway 838GM (RB838GM) PC Desktop

1 Answer

Yes the light is under the power cord. I unpluged and waited for the light to go away. I give it about 30 min then pluged it back in. that did not work. every thing else on the same power strip works. It has not been giving me any problems. I just went to turn it on this morning and it did nothing.

Sounds like a power supply. Look for fuses on the motherboard that could be blown. Also, you may smell a distinct smell of burnt electronic devices when you smell near PS. Good indication it is fried.

I have a deep freezer, the light is on but doesn't freeze. It's only 2 yrs old what could be the problem?I unpluged it and waited 10 mins pluged back in and nothing the red light stayed on but...

Well a freezer is easy to repair. The circuit goes from one side of the power cord to the cold control and down to the compressor then out to the other side of the power cord. Id the control or compressor relay is open then she won't freeze. All the parts to it are listed HERE.
From the list I see an overload for the compressor. If that one is open it won't freeze. Bypass the temp control wires to see if she runs.

The lights on my hp psc 1410 all in one printer is always on and not goin off. I have manually unpluged it and pluged it back in after a few mins and all the lights appear but no sound is coming from it...

Try a Reset. This is from the HP Web Site:

Unplug the power cord from the unit. Reconnect the power cord into the unit. When the lights begin to flash, press and hold the On/Resume and Paper Size buttons. When only the On/Resume light is flashing, release the buttons. When the On/Resume light is steady, the reset is complete.

Hi,

Might be some problem with adapter. verify output voltage of the adapter with multimeter. If no output then replace your adapter.
