Change oil. Install a fuel shut-off in fuel line. Your fuel solenoid may be bad.

Have a poulan wild thing and the oil bar compartment has gas in it

I would drain the oil and gas or whatever is in it. I would also drain the 2 cycle mix from the gas tank and start with a fresh gas and oil mix and fresh bar oil. The mix for the Poulan Wildthing is a 40:1 mix.

You are definitely going to smell gas when using any chain saw.

What is the ratio of gas to oil for a 35cc engine

Mix 3.2 ounces of Poulan 2-cycle air cooled engine oil to one gallon of fresh unleaded gasoline to obtain the recommended 40:1 fuel to oil ratio.
Over a period of time oil will separate from gasoline. To properly insure oil and gas mixture, I recommend thoroughly shaking your oil and gas mixture before refueling your unit.
If the saw is to be stored for longer than 30 days - drain the fuel tank, re-tighten the gas cap, and start the unit and let it run until it stops.

Dont know what the oil gas mixture is suppose to consist of

Your manual (from Sears) states that your mix ratio is 40:1. You will need 3.2 ounces of Poulan "Pro" synthetic 2 stroke oil mixed in 1 U.S gallon of gas or you can mix 1.6 ounces of the oil in a half-gallon of gas. They suggest using the Poulan "Pro" brand synthetic oil. I do also. Synthetic oil significantly reduces wear, allows the machine to run cooler, and burns cleaner with less by-products and emissions. What is the oil to gas mix? Paulan xt-200

Poulan motors usually use a 40:1 mix ratio.

That is 3.2 oz of 2-cycle oil to 1 Gallon (128 oz) of gas.

Be sure to not use gas with more than 10% Ethanol.

Bar oil leaking constantly. How do I fix it?

These saws are of the self oiling type there is no tip or bottle it consists of a tank and a channel the oil flows thru and on to the bar by gravity. There is a type of bar oil system on some saws that come with a button you push which In turn pumps oil onto the bar. But the poulan is not one of them. I have a 15 year old farm hand 20" bar and a two year old poulan wild thing 18" and both leave there oil in the case when sitting I beleive the fix would be drain it after use and clean up.
