How do I operate my self-cleaning oven..no manual..

Thank you for your post, Pattie Cromie!

I see that you would like to operate self-clean on your Frigidaire range and you do not have the manual. Typically, to start self-clean you would need to push the button labeled "Self-clean" and make sure there is nothing inside the oven before starting a self-clean cycle. Also before starting self-clean close the door because of the temperatures that are created within the oven the door needs to be closed and locked. I hope this has been beneficial. -Matt

How do I start the self cleaning? I hit clean and it does not start

On most self-cleaning ovens after you push the clean cycle button you have to tell it how long you want it to clean. Try pushing clean then pushing 3:00 for 3 hrs. If you don't have a number pad try pushing the clean pad several times and see if it cycles through clean levels like low, med or high. Then after you tell it how long to clean hit start. If you don't have a start button the oven should start cleaning after around 5 seconds. It will lock the door and begin the clean cycle. Also remember it takes around an hour for the oven to cool and unlock after the cycle is finished. Hope that helps.

It has a hard time starting, it will start, stall, start again, stall, then when I give it a little pedal as I try to start it, it will start, once it is started it runs great. could it be the ISC motor? I...

You are in the right area. First I would check that the throttle interior along with the plate itself is spotlessly clean along with the access passages to the ISC. I would remove the ISC and ensure the the valve likewise is spotlessly clean and has good freedom of movement. Plenty of clean cloths and WD40 spray help in the clean up. Make sure the electrical connector withe ISC is clean and tight with no breaks in the loom. Test the engine when all cleaned up and if the idle is still problem then, and only then, consider changing the ISC.

I need to clean my double ovens, but do not have the owner's manual. I know that I simple press the Clean button, but how long do I set the timer for?

You only need to reset the time if you want a cleaning cycle other than 4 hours. The default start is press Self-Clean then Start. Otherwise, press Start, type in a time between 3 and 5 hours (Min/Max cycle length) and then press Start. Do this with the number pad, do not press the Timer button. If you wish to clean both ovens, the second one will start when the first one finishes.

The Locked door light will go off when the oven has cooled below the Lock temperature. If you interupt the cleaning cycle by pressing Clear/Off, the door will remain locked until the oven cools.

I hope this helps.

Self clean

Usually the oven has to be locked closed with a handle on on the front door. This will activate a safety mechanism that will allow the cleaning cycle to start. If the safety switch is malfunctioning or the door is not closed properly, the cleaning cycle won't start.
