Question about Computers & Internet
This a 320GB external (USB) hard disk drive.
Can you see it in your USB system ? If not try a different cable, different USB socket on your PC, and check all connectors (none should be loose)
.If it does show in the USB system, go to DiskManagement. If it shows there and everything looks normal, it is 'active', you may have to try reformatting the disk. You should also try locating the disk in the USB system and uninstalling the drivers, disconnect your disk, reboot your computer, and it will try to reload the (new) drivers (you must be connected to the internet). Try to check if 5V and 12V are both present on the PSU, I don't know how difficult this is with the connector that WD use.
You could contact Western Digital support, mostly they try to be helpful even your disk is not under warranty, but have all the information that is on the label to hand (s/n, p/n, model number etc).
