Question about Hitachi 62VS69 62" HDTV
How do you adjust the lamp. it has been replaced and i have 6 inches at the top that is back lit but the rest of the screen is so dark you better be in complete darkness to see anything
Will probably need the light engine/optic block for this unit; If you can even locate it the cost would be prohibitive on this older unit.
You can buy a new LED or LCD for less.

Did you have color problems in past? Most of these sets have convergence problems. Amps goes out. But you should have seen some type of distortion from color, red,blue, green. If no color problems then maybe vertical ouput out or horizontal output bad.

Just a guess,under the power button, inside the the flip[ down cover is a light dimmer,you can turn this on and off,in advanced settings under video,a flash light will trigger the sensor to see if it works the dimmer,if not it could be that circuit or your power supply needs work,I hope this helps!

use the advanced options page and reset the factor blue and red convergence defaults then do re apply the auto color defaults color at first it seemed very red (which is good because red was the missing factor in the green picture) but after reseting all the color and tints to the normal ranges I then reset the color auto correct again and all seems fine.

Good Day, tfarmer;
Since you have replaced the lamp, which is the normal cause for a dark picture. Have you checked your video settings?
The brightness level should be set at about 55 to 60%, the contrast should be set at about 90% and the video temp should be at normal or high.
If all these are set about this way, then I would think that the light engine might be going bad.
Good Luck, big IRISH.
