Sound like a head alignment problem It could also be just dirty. Most of the big box stores sell a cleaner disk , for not too much. Your find it in the electronics department.

I can't get into the map on my pioneer avic d3

The AVIC D3 is not pioneers best. The navigation side of the unit is wearing out. The slider slot in the dvd and other moving parts are wearing down fractionally and that is all it takes for the unit to no longer read the high density map data discs. The map disc is a dual layer 8.5gb disc and it is just about max out. (The disc must be in the unit for the navigation to work.) This is a lot of information and the unit must be able to read every bit of data on the disc or it will error out. All it takes is the fractional wear to mess up the tracking of the laser over the disc and cause problems reading the data on the disc. When the unit spins and spins, it is working hard to read something on the disc and will eventually error out if it can't. Also a fingerprint or tiny spot on the disc will prevent the unit from reading the disc. (Clean with a drop of water and soft cotton cloth even if it looks clean.) The data is information or instructions telling the unit what to do, and if it misses any information it will go crazy and error out. This is very different from music or video/movies that just play and if a spot is on the disc it will just be a fuzzy picture or static from that spot. If you have a disc your system likes, take care of it. I say likes because every disc has fractional differences in data location on the disc. (This is tolerance) That fractional difference could make or break the ability of your unit to read the map disc. So one possible fix is trying different disc to see if your unit will like one of them. Still eventually this also will die. These units are beyond their life cycle and the dvd drive is operating on borrowed time. I hope this helps.

For playing it take more time , why?

hello naijomv
sounds like the laser is "tired", thats the reason why it takes longer to read the discs. next step would be (if it gets worser) not to read anymore. another possibility are scratches on the discs itself.
hope it helped a bit.

HOW DO I TYPE NAMES OF CD OR DVD ?

You can't add a title to a disc from a player (such as this). You can only add a title on a disc writer before finishing the disc. (The only exception is RW (rewritable) disc which can be unfinished.) If a title (disc, chapter or track) is on the disc you can display it. Press Title on the remote. If you want to read all of the information on any disc, insert the disc and press Load on the player (when in Stop mode) or press the TV/DiscExplorer/DVD button to set the unit in Disc Explorer mode. It takes about 30 seconds to load the data. Press Stop to cancel the data search. Then use the folder buttons (ALL,DVD,CD,A,B,C,D) on the remote or the player to read the various items. Press Return to leave the folders. If you enter the Disc Explorer while playing a disc, the playback will stop and you will have to press Play to restart (Resume is not an available option).

Once loaded the player will store the data even after you remove the disc. It will clear when a new disc is inserted or you press Load.

The manual for this unit is available at: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DVPCX850D .

I hope this helps.

My LG DVD RECORDER, MODEL RH7500 won't play DVDs.

Check the model specifications for your device. Some players will only accept DVD-R and not DVD+R or not DVD+RW discs. I know it all seems the same, and it's very frustrating, but many companies restrict the type of discs they will allow. My player does +R but not -R. It should still be able to read DVD discs that you made yourself, but they will be of a different type.

Jamo DMR60- sound doesn't match dvd

I have the same problem. I have been in contact with Jamo Denmakr and Norway. They are aware of the problem. There are two issues/answers:
1 If the DVD your're playing has scratches reading error accumulate and then audio sync problems occur. (My meaning is lo quality DVD drive). You might overcome this by reburning the divx file to a new disc to avoid read errors.
2 The DVD drive itself is defective and should be replaced. Warranty should cover this of course. I do receive my DMR-61 this week after DVD drive change. I hope this will fix it...but I don't believe so. Crossing my fingers.

My DVD player no longer plays original dvd's - only copied dvd's

some times when you create DVD movies by high speed DVD writers, your data cannot be read by dvd player with high performance. it s due to speed mismatching. always write DVDs with Normal speed in order to use with DVD players. while in case oof PC-DVD -Rom it does not happens. it can read any high speed wriiten DVDs. DVD-Rom in PC are more precise than DVD players. Some times Weak DVD player Lens system can also mis read.

Various LG DVD Player

Some models of PIONEER cd players had radio frequency problems that caused them to work on and off. Are you near any radio or braodcast towers? Poorly shielded power supplies cause this as well. A weak laser diode in the pick-up assembly in model runs could be the problem. You might want to Google the model number and see if this is common for these units.
