Question about Refrigerators
I don't know where the coils are? Usually they are under the frig.
The condenser is behind the cover on the back of the unit, on the right-hand side if you're facing the back of it. It's probably shrouded.
The book says not to remove the cover, merely to vacuum the vent but I wouldn't trust that, clogged condenser is the #1 cause of compressor failure, far and away.
I would definitely unplug it before removing the cover. If there isn't room to vacuum it or brush it off, used compressed air to blow the dirt out, but be careful not to displace any shrouds (they're important to air flow.)

SOURCE: Refrig is hot to touch
Hi, Have you checked to see if there is a frost build up in the freezer? How are the temperatures in the fresh food side or the freezer side? Check and make sure the evaporator motor is running in the freezer. Please let me know if you find any of these issues. When that area is hot, usually there is more going on and the temps are not right. Let me know so I can assist you further.

If you're not satisfied with the job the brush does you may have to buy or borrow a small compressor and use air to blow the lint/hair clear of the cooling lines. Our buildup was due to pet hair (2 dogs & a cat so the $200 I spent for the compressor, hose and extended nozzle were used monthly (clean cooling system will reduce the unit's e;ectrical consumption) and paid for themselves.

To reach the back coils you need to pull the fridge out and take off the cardboard type cover...
I often use an air compressor with high pressure air to blow out the coils..makes a mess but oh, well, sometimes you got to do what you got to do...
