Question about Electric Mobility Power Electric Scooter Power Wheel Chair Safety Flag

2 Answers

The power indication display is flashing with all colors visible.

There is no response from the joy stick. The chair was charged when the display went goofy. I plugged it up for a re-charge and still no difference. When the power button is pressed the display flashed continuously.

The flashing will come on if the chair is in neutral or if the charger is still plugged in when you turn it on. Place the chair in neutral (freewheel) by shifting the levers out, then place firmly back into drive.

Unplug from the charger and it should fire up. Sometimes, the chair will also go into "sleep mode".
Check your owners manual for this. Note, some have sleep mode potential but it's not in the manual, and if someone inadvertantly hits the right series of motions with the joystick, you can inadvertantly put it to sleep. Try turning the chair off, wait three seconds and power back up, then immediately press the "horn" button. This wakes up most of them. Others you need to power off, turn back on and then move the joystick forward, backward then forward again.

Good luck

I had need to move the chair without turning the chair on so I released the levers that engage the wheels. That caused the display to flash wildly when the power button was pressed. Engaged the wheels and the display and Joy stick are fine!

The lights indicate you are in charge mode or inhibit. Check to make sure the charger isn't plugged in. If it isn't then the inhibit function of the chair is bad and will have to be repaired Hope this helped

YY count the number of flashes ie 4 flashes pause 4 flashes pause. This will give you the error code and will tell what is wrong with your chair Check out my tip on Flash codes if you can't find them in your manual. Without fixing the problem that generated the flashing you won't be able to use the chair until the problem is fixed. If you want you could contact the provider that sold you the chair and have them troubleshoot the problem for you Hope this helps
