SOURCE: sony dcr-trv6 unable to load tape in deck

This is a common problem. The code indicates that the sensor for the supply reel has indicated lack of motion. If you have a cleaning tape, try it first because if the head drum hesitates, reel error codes often appear. If this doesn't help you are in for a service situation. There are other electronic failures that can cause false codes and operations in many cases. These usually involve cable connection failure. You still need a qualified servicer. SOURCE: Sony DCR-hc42 video camera problems

Buy a Sony-make head cleaning cassette and play it in the camera for 10 seconds. Do not play for more time, neither forward or reverse the cleaning cassette, otherwise you will damage the head of the camera. This cleaning cassette is to be thrown when it is fully played (and not rewound!).

SOURCE: Cannot re-insert the tape cassette into DCR-HC47.

Have the same problem, tryed an authurized repairshop.
They couldnt fix it without sending the camera to an other repairshop with specialized sony tools.
So they could fix it for about 200euro.

Try these steps:

1. Open the tape cover fully until it clicks open.
2. Turn the camcorder on to "VCR Mode."
3. With the cover still open and the camera in "VCR mode," take out the battery.
4. Put the battery back in--out should pop your tape.

Sony dcr-trv350 tape wont close

there is a risk of hardware damage.make sure you dont force the tape into the cassette compartment to avoid damage to the unit or tape.here's what you can do.
1.remove the tape from the compartment.
2.ensure proper type and size of tape is used.
3.ensure no packaging material or foreign material inside the compartment.
4.if attempting to record, make sure cassette tape rec/save switch is set to rec position.
5.reinsert the tape, make sure it's properly inserted.
6.if still won't close or tape ejected again, remove tape.
7.reinsert a diff tape.
8.attempt to close compartment.
9.if issue unresolved, press the tiny reset button while cam is powered on (located in the panel where the lcd screen goes to,just below all the other buttons). you may also do a power reset procedure: remove batt, remove ac adaptor, set power switch to vcr, leave the cam without power for at least a minute, switch power back to off, reinsert ac adaptor/batt and turn cam on, attempt to close tape compartment.

if issue persists, service would be needed. hope this helps.thanks:)
