I'm probably to late for this answer, but I will share it anyway.
I got this problem after buying a used CVA620, that had not been used for a while.
To solve the problem i used a breast pump :-)
My wife had this doublepump after the last kid. And I used the hoses that comes with this unit (rubber-like) and connecting them to the hot-water and the steam-nozzles. I started pumping, and pushed the hotwaterbutton. After 5min of pumping and swearing, the job was done. No my CVA works as a charm again :-)

pull the stainless steel dispenser cover straight down as far as it will go. now push it firmly up as far as it will go. if the error message still appears, repeat, but push up faster and harder. there is a switch monitoring the position of the central jets to make sure they are installed. you have to push up hard enough to close that switch. sometimes you have to slam it pretty good, but dont go crazy on it. just give it a firm touch.

Hi Amy, Sounds like a vaccum valve is faulty. Try opening the steam tap and leavig it open while heating. If this fixes your heating, up then that is your problem. If its still not working then you have either a faulty heatig element or a faulty pressure switch. I do not recomend repairing this yourself as you could potenitly harm yourself. If my first solution works, then just live with it. Once its heated, the faulty vaccum valve plays no more part in the machines operation. Its only works for heating up. You can hit the top of it to free it, but then it might not seal off when machine has heated. It will constantly leak steam. Dazza REPAIRER
