sounds like its not on high power.. Some microwaves have a popcorn button..This is usually automatically a high setting.Try putting your water in then hit popcorn...If the water heats up faster then your power settings are set wrong. You just need to change them. Your not set on high power..

Waveguide Cover

If the microwave is sparking or arcing the waveguide cover might be damaged and shorting out. Try removing the waveguide cover and see if the problem goes away. If there are any damaged spots in the microwave ceiling or sidewalls, repair them and paint them with microwave oven paint. Replace the waveguide cover if it is burnt or if it will not stay in place.

Microwave Oven Paint

If the microwave is sparking or arcing on the side walls the paint might have chipped causing pitting in the metal oven wall. Use microwave safe paint to touch up any bare metal spots.

Rack Support

If the microwave is sparking or arcing near one of the rack supports, remove the support, repaint any bare metal, install a new support.

Unfortunately this is one of the worst things that can go into the microwave, when it blasted it covered everything on the inside including the magnetron and door switches. The cost will be high because chances are high the magnetron is damaged and the interior cavity is covered in egg not to mention the door latches, I would recommend replacing the whole unit.

You can defrost items by time but not with the Q-Defrost or Auto-Defrost functions. (I've found it best to defrost ground beef with timed intervals at power 1. Auto Defrost by weight usually starts cooking the meat. You will need to try it a few times to see how long and what power to use.)
