Question about Whirlpool 24 in. DU1100XTP Built-in Dishwasher
I have a du1100 model. I have had the problem of clean light blinking, I know how to fix that. I know how to unlock the unit. Now, even with the power turned off at the breaker, the front panel has lights on and blinking all the time. The lock light is on, occasionally blinks fast 3 times, but pushing Heated Dry for 5-10 secs will not unlock. Please Help!!!

Yes this is a heater fault detection error. The unit may not be heating the water resulting in unsanitary dishes so the unit shuts down in this fault. Also the door may not have completely shut resulting in the heater not working, but everything else does (the heater common line is broken at the door switch. Clear the fault by entering diagnostics with this key dance heated dry, normal, heated dry, normal. All the leds will light, you can then press cancel and try another wash cycle. If fault occurs again, you must repair heater problem.

Check the whirlpool web site. There is a link to see if yours is affected, click that and answer a couple of questions then if will ask for the serial number and then the model number, which are located on the inside wall of the washer. When you submit these numbers it will tell you if yours is recalled which is probably the cause of your problems as well. Since mine was doing something similar and it is one of the washers on recall for a bad motor.

Control is programmed to stop
running and not allow any
further cycles if it detects a
water heating problem (no
temperature increase detected
in heated Main Wash on
3 consecutive cycles). Control
blinks the Clean LED 7 times
repeatedly and disables the
Start/Resume key until
Running Diagnostics clears the
control and allows it to operate
again. The water heating problem
must be fixed or the control will
stop running again. See potential
Heater circuit problem:
■ Open in heater.
■ Open connection or
component in heater circuit.
■ Faulty heater drive circuit on
1. Check operation of heater in
2. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect
3. Check resistance of heater and all
components and connections in the
water heating circuit or heat dry
dont forget to vote hope this helps thank you

Have you tried turning off the power for a few minutes before then trying to unlock the dishwasher?
Remove power by turning off the circuit breaker, for a few minutes and then turn the breaker back on....let the dishwasher start up and then try to press the heated dry for 4 seconds...it should unlock.
If that don't work then try the 4 hr delay button for 4 seconds if your dishwasher has one...
Seems like you scrambled the brain a bit... recycling the power should help straighten things out...
