Are there batteries in the old Viking grills? my ignitors are not working. it doesn't look like there are batteries

If the ignitors make a sharp snap or click when you press them, then you don't need batteries. Try to clean the tips of the ignitors (carefully). On the other hand, if the ignitor is an electrical pushbutton (often rubberized) that doesn't make the clacking sound, it's electric and needs batteries. Try to (gently) unscrew the pushbutton assembly . Grillmakers often hide the battery inside.

I replace a ignitor on my stove to a new one but it smoke why

Not Enough Information. If an electrical box smokes obviously that means the electronics are severely damaged. We stock dozens of ignition assemblies and they do not smoke. Are you referring to the grill smoking? An electrical box cannot smoke unless it is fried or is on fire. If the stove is smoking you need to clean it and/or burn it off. smoke is caused by grease.

Ignitor doesn't click, spark or light gas

A minor scratch will not do much harm to your image unless you use higher f-stops.Buff might help if its done by the canon themselves but mostly once an element is scratched , its gone for ever. any attempt might deteriorate the image quality even fogging your image in certain parts. using fine glass polishing powder can be used very delicately but its pretty technique sensitive and you might almost ruin the whole lens element.
If your images are fine, then don't bother or else better change the element for full from the canon.Local shops might not give you the best result.

The ignitor would not even click. put new batteries with no success.

Make sure that you have the battery facing the right direction. Generally on most electronic grill ignitors the + end should be facing you. If you're sure they are facing the right direction, remove them and check for corrosion in the battery holder. If you find some, clean it out using a Q Tip and WD40. Then replace the battery. If that doesn't solve the problem, make sure all the wires behind the control panel of the grill are securely attached. Then remove the cooking grates and the flame tamers and check the spark ignitors, If they are covered with grease, which they frequently are, clean them with a cotton ball soaked in alcohol.

Any or all of the above should solve the problem. If it doesn't, it's time to replace the electronic ignitor assembly. You can purchase it online directly from Brinkmann.

Happy Grilling!!!

My ignitor will not start, replaced the battery and not even a clicking sound will work...what is wrong

First, make sure the battery your put in is turned in the right direction. In most cases the + in of the battery should be facing out. Also, be sure the replacement battery is in fact, good.

If that doesn't solve the problem, check the wiring behind the ignitor module. The ground wire may be off or loose. In fact check all the wires to make sure they are secure.

If the gill has been out in the weather, uncovered for a while, the whole ignitor module may have to be replaced.

Hope this helps you resolve the problem.

PT450rbi grill Ignitor does not provide a spark. I have changed batteries and checked wire connections. Still no spark.

The ignitor may be covers may be covered with grease or the wire to the ignitor has lost it's ground.
Simply clean the grease of the ignitor with alcohol and a rag. Disconnect the ignitor wire from the igniter and then push it back on the needle like prong. One final thing ... make sure the battery(s) are facing the right direction.
