switch off your printer. remove power cord from its main source and remove usb cable connection from printer to computer. wait for 5 minutes then connect back the usb cable to you computer and plug in the power cord ,switch on the printer
Power off printer, remove power plug from printer, remove usb cable from printer, pull out paper and check for jams, check toner cartridge, clean area underneath the toner cartridge head, uninstall printer from windows control panel, reboot computer, plug-in printer with a different working usb cable, plug in power to printer, power on printer, reinstall printer driver. All in those steps exactly. If that doesn't work I would say you have a bad printer on your hands.
Hi Mike, the paper feed switch doesn't feed paper... it switches the paper source from the top feeder to the bottom tray. Do you have paper in both? How many times does the orange light flash in between the greens? That tells the error.
I fixed it by completely ignoring website that say they are free, then when you go into them they ask to choose a package deal like your site diid and because i do have a visa card, a cheque book or pay pal this is very annoying for me and also being a female is very frustrating. Thank you for trying to help me but no thank you. Babsey 48
You can download the repairer's manual for free from http://pcprinter.blogspot.com/2008/05/service-manual-for-epson-89012801290.html which is where the solution below is listed (p.68).
Basically Epson want you (or, rather, a service centre which you'll have to pay!) to replace the waste ink pad every so many copies. However, you can reset the printer even without replacing anything by switching it off on the silver button, switching it on again whilst holding down the two black buttons alongside it, then releasing them all before quickly holding down just the left-hand black button for 10 seconds. You have only three seconds to do this after switching back on, whilst the green and red lights are flashing together. If you're not quick enough on the first try, switch off using the silver button and repeat the procedure!
To pin it down to a hardware fault, you may need to remove the printer from the usb port, uninstall driver and re start pc.
Check your printer and faxes folder to make sur there are no other canon printers listed, if so delete.
Re install printer driver, then when prompted connect printer to a different usb port and see if windows recognises your printer and is installed ready to use.
Try again and if the same problem you know it's the printer thats faulty
