SOURCE: hunter 44155c wiring from manual thermostat

I have a manual thermostat with the following wire connections (Y, G, R, O, C, & E) with the respective wires attached (yellow, green, red, orange, blue, white). My 44260 has available G, Rc, Rh, Y/O, W/B, Y1. Which wires should I connect to which terminals on the 44160. Thanks.

The wire colours mean nothing. If your old one didn't have letters or you already disconnected it, you will have to go to the furnace. Under one of the panels there will be a control board to which the thermostat wires connect and this might have the letters printed on it. Trace them back and connect them appropriately.

If you have a furnace that is like mine (a single-stage natural gas one), chances are that R is +24V, C is common, W is heat call, and G is the blower. Y is generally cooling. The furnace could be turned on by connecting R, W, and G together, I suppose, if the above doesn't work... but it won't shut off automatically.

SOURCE: Air and heat have both been running on Hunter 44155C

There should be a switch on the thermostat.
AC-OFF-HEAT
And another switch
FAN ON-OFF-AUTO
Normally, you just set it for heat or AC and set the fan for auto. If it isn't wired correctly, the switches won't make any difference. It will either run all of the time or not at all.

SOURCE: Switching old thermostat to Hunter thermostat model 44155c

By describing the wires from your new thermostat and your old one, it sounds like your new thermostat is not compatible with your system. If you have seven wires now, then you more than likely have a heat pump system and you have to get a thermostat that is compatible with this type of system. Then you will have the connections you need.

Furnace will not turn on even after the thermostat is programed. Thermostat is a Hunter 44155c

5 a. Check the Heat/Cool function switch to ensure it is set to the desired position. 5 b. Wait. There may be as much as a 4-minute delay before the system turns on or off to protect the compressor. 5 c. Check the circuit breakers and switches to ensure there is enough power to the system. 5 d. Replace the batteries. 5 e. If applicable, make sure the furnace blower door is closed properly. 5 f. If your system has 4 wires, ensure the jumper wire is installed between the RC and RH terminals.

I have a hunter programmable thermostat model #44155c and Im trying to wire it to my goodman furnace. Its a 7 wire system with a white, yellow, red, green, brown, blue, and orange wire. The ac works fine but...

Make sure you do not have a jumper between the red and the white. Also make sure the wire is not hanging out from behind the screws. If the heat stayes on no matter what you do. The red wire has to be touching the white somewhere.
The red is your 24v supply to the thermostat
The white is what sends the 24v to the heat side of unit.
Just a thought. If the thermostat has a O/B pin or switch on the back. Make sure it's on O. It should only be ob B if it's a Trane, American Standard or Payne.

What were each wire connected to on the white rodgers? The connectors on the white rodgers should have markings. Tell me this and I can tell you how to wire your new stat. This hunter will not work with multi stage heat pumps..so I need to know what was connected to what on the white rodgers to know what type of unit. Thanks Kevin
