Question about Cub Cadet Street Sign- tractor lawn riding mower parts

1 Answer

I have an LT-1018. My wife was mowing when the PTO came loose, snapping the wires to it. I tightened the PTO and soldered the wires. However, the mower will not start now. No click of the selonid, no nothing. I bypassed the starter switch and jumpered from the battery to the terminal on the starter. The engine turns over but does not fire.

Check the fuse, it should be located near the battery, it may have blown when the wires snapped as both wires touched the frame of the mower

I have a series model 1018 cub cadet with electric mower deck. After mowing for about 45 minutes, I turned off the tractor for a few minutes. When I tried to restart, the battery was dead. I jumped started...

If you have access to an electric voltmeter, with it running check voltage at the battery. The engine should charge the battery and maintain system voltage so that the electic PTO will function. The electic PTO will not pull in if system voltage is too low.

Electric pto will not engage the mowing deck. stopped working while mowing.

had a similar problem. The engine mount bolt that grounded the PTO black ground wire was loose- causing the pto to work erratically. To see this bolt (13mm i think) you will have to lie on your back and look under the machine. It is above the front steering arm of the right tire. If the wire is dangling you will need a new bolt. Thanks for the previous posts ;)

Cable for pto is loose and when done mowing will not disengage, the blades still spin. You can turn the mower off and then they will stop, and the tractor will restart with no problem, as if the pto is not...

It's probably not the cable, but the idler arm on the deck that the pulley that tightens up the belt is not moving back and forth freely, probably from rust. Spray penatrating oil on the pivot point while working it back and forth until it frees up. If still having problems, let me know. Dwain
