Echo t330 chainsaw has compression lock cant pull start cord

remove your spark plug and try to pull over. if it still won't turn over then you will have to decarbon your head or you have vapor lock so then with plug removed pull recoil and if fuel sprays out of plug hole keep pulling over until there is no more spray from hole. clean plug off. reinstall and try starting

Echo CS346 Very hard to pull starting rope, feels like it has 3 detents. However, with spark plug removed, it pulls smooth and easy. Could I have a stuck exhaust valve.

Most chain saws don't use "valves" but just have an exhaust port from the side when the piston is down. You MAY be just carboned up in the cylinder head so compression is too high causing extra hard force to go over the center. Maybe you are running with too much oil mix or there could be a failure of the con rod bearing.

I have a echo cs-341 only way it will start is if the muffler is off. any ideas? i did pull the screen still did not help. thanks

I guess the muffler is blocke inside with carbon, burn it out with a small gas torch, the carbon will burn and eventually fall out.

Echo cs-3400 wont start . no spark. what are the primary and secondary coil readings?

if you have no spark

check for faulty plug 1st, then pull kill wire off at kill switch, then check for grounding ht lead ,
then pull kill wire off at armature , if still no spark most likley faulty ignition armature
i suspect the part number you need if its type 1 is 15662639130
replace it and set air gap and reassemble and test

here is web site for parts

http://www.ereplacementparts.com/echo-cs3400-type-chainsaw-parts-c-35043_35970_36021.html

or you could try www.partstree.com , go to echo saws , then find your model

cheers hope it helps

BRAND NEW ECHO CS-600P HARD STARTING, HAVE TO PULL THE RECOIL LIKE 20 TIME BEFORE IT WILL START.

Are you pumping the primer bulb until fuel flows into the bulb, setting the choke, and the fast idle is being set? Set the choke at half position after the first 'pop' and don't touch the throttle until it starts running. If you are doing these things per the instructions, take the machine back for warranty adjustment. Hope this helps!

Chainsaw won't start

Time to get out your trusty tool kit. Remove the side cover assembly and look at the recoil assembly. You should see a pair of fingers that when you pull the cord move toward the center. If the fingers are there and not broken, make sure they move when you pull the cord. clean them if dirty or have foreign objects (like sawdust) around them. If the fingers are broken, replace them. You should be able to purchase them from your local saw shop.
