I had shown it to a proffessional . He said that there is some motherboard problem & it requires big amount to repair it.I dont believe in him.
But i want to know that what may be the probable problem & how much it cost to replace the total power unit supply.

Hi Folks, Happy New Year and Great Week End!
I only need replies from fellows with technical minds and not blind guesses, because I do know little bit about electronics and a lot about batteries.
About 2 years ago I bought a used but very new generic brand G733 1.66G lap top for my kid. It was used with the original "EMC31J" battery and power plug. In approx. 6 month time, the lap top started to strike. It could boot after many many attempts if we were lucky and then followed by a completely dead response. I searched the web and there were incidents identical to mine. e.g. cannot start at all, cannot start with power plug alone......... . From that I can be almost sure it is the power supply circuit within the laptop. I wrote to ECS and you might guess what sort of "official reply" I can expect to have!
Last fall I took the lap top to the Orient to a friend who once worked for ECS. Unfortunately, he only knows Desk Top mother board at the time he was an in-house PCB repairer. He sent it to another friend to fix it and it worked fine for about a 2 weeks only, and then it happened once, only once, that I needed to make many attempts before it booted - a bad sign!
Now, in short, it reverts back to what it was, need to press the start button many many times before it gets up, or not at all, with battery unit but "w/o" power plug.
This morning, I dissembled the battery unit to explore more facts. It is a 4group x 3cells, each still delivers 4V, with a 16V OCV. vis-a-vis the 14.8V nominal. The battery unit is still good!
I then pluged back the lap top, and none of the 7 pins shows any sign of viable voltage. Unless there is a "soft switch" built-in the battery unit to turn on the charge or "use" circuit, the mother board power circuit simply provides nothing to power the machine.
With this type of lap top, I am not prepared to spend big money. Would any one with technical know-how come forward with suggestions.
Nic
