On the bottom near the open position of the door is a latching mechanism that is actuated by a solenoid. If the solenoid goes bad or the latch jams the door will freeze in that position. I can tell you where the problem is but because of teh way these interlocks work to prevent damage to the electric closing motor I am unable to explain how to by pass them. You should be able to remove the locking latch so you can close the door manually but that will not solve all of the problems. A Haynes repair manual on the vehicle should give you the steps needed to by pass and repair this problem, Chilton's should as well. These are the best sources I can provide for resolving this issue. The Dealer will most likely want a couple hundred to repair the issue if it isn't under warranty, the Haynes manual will only run about $20 and let you do this repair yourself.
