Question about Dell Dimension 4600 PC Desktop
I am unable to re-load XP or Vista. The computer always runs from the HD on start-up. How can I get it to run Vista and erase everything else to start over?
When the computer first starts up, try tapping over and over the F2 key, or the Delete key. This will bring up the setup screen. Once you get into the setup screen, find the place where it lists all the devices for booting up the computer. Make sure you select the CD ROM as the first boot device. Save the changes, put the recovery CD in the drive, and let the computer start up. Follow the instructions on the screen carefully, and you should have no problems from there. After the operating system is installed, you will have to install all the drivers for your system.
