If your door is in the open position the trolley is probably jammed against a bolt just in front of the motor unit. Remove that bolt and then run the opener until the door is closed. Now on the side of the motor unit you will find a control labeled 'up limit'. Turn this about 3 turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Be sure to replace the bolt.

If the sensor is working right, that leaves the downward force sensor tripping. First check for track obstrucions by manually moving the door with the lift disengaged. If door works without excessive force, then increase the force sensor of the lift a bit.

If you are sure the battery is good then try to program the remote by holding the button down on the remote and then pressing and immediately releasing the smart/learn button. If this doesn't work and you have another remote that does work then the remote has quit working.

Did these doors quit at the same time or over a period. It seems that the actuators for the locks have gone bad. With the mentioned doors, that's a lot weight for the actuators to unlock and pop open. With the remotes and console not working , that's more reason to think the actuators are the problem.

Have sears garage door opener it lifts allright but cant close unless you hold the wired pad. works ok up with the remote just jumps a little when you push down button will not close with remote.

Check your door sensors and make sure they are pointed at one another. Each of them has a small light that should be lit when they are properly aligned. Tweak them if necessary. If you can't get both lights to come on then one of the sensors has quit working.

You can try programming it but if you have another remote that works and this one doesn't it probably just quit on you. To try programming it hold down the button on the remote and then press and immediately release the smart/learn button on the back of the motor unit.

It's only going to take you less then 5 min to change one side at a time with the use of a flat head screw driver.
