SOURCE: feed dog is stuck

I have the same problem...this is a work around, not a fix. You need a small flat-head screwdriver. 1. Remove the clear bobbin cover. 2. Make sure the feed dog switch is in the DOWN position. 3. Slide the screwdriver under the feeddogs from inside the bobbin area & lift the feed dogs. 4. While holding the feed dogs in the up position, return the feed dog knob to the up position. You have to do this every time you put the feed dogs down...bummer, but I can find no broken part or adjustment that corrects this. If it's inside the machine body, I don't mess with it... I did take off the bottom plate in the feed dog area..one screw holds it.... there is nothing there to indicate a problem.

SOURCE: feed dog problem.

Open the bobbin case door and there should be a lever sitting off to the right. It moves from left to right. For the feed dogs to be in the up position the lever should be to the left.

SOURCE: How do I raise and lower the feed dog on my singer

On your Singer, you don't actually raise / lower the feed dog. Instead you attach a "darning plate" (which should have come with the machine) which covers the feed dogs so they do not come in contact with the fabric. See a page from the owner's manual using this link within my web site: http://www.sewvac1.com/Singer3080_Feed_Drop.pdf

Singer 6235 - the fabric is not advancing regardless of stitch length or tension

Could be any of a multitude of reasons.

Check whether the feed dogs are actually rising 'above' the needle plate. If not, then they may be in a dropped position used for darning and free motion quilting.

Sometimes the feed dogs and the mechanism underneath is jammed with lint and debris. Make sure the dog teeth are well cleaned. Also check if the tips of the teeth are worn. Also verify that the needle plate is flush with the free arm--if it is raised, it will prevent the feed dogs from doing their job.

The other thing to check is whether the machine has a presser foot pressure adjustment. Some machines have it, others do not. On newer machines, it is usually a dial somewhere around the left side of the head or toward to top of the head. On older machines, unfortunately, some are simply a big screw head on the inside of the case directly above the presser foot bar. It basically applies more pressure to the presser foot, which in turn applies more pressure to the feed dogs. The problem will usually show up when sewing either very heavy or very fine fabric. Perhaps trying a different presser foot will make a difference.

I don't know what is the highest number the stitch length goes to on your machine, but a #2 stitch length is pretty short on mine. Try setting it higher.

Singer sewing machine model 7005, dog feed is not working. Where is the lever to adjust the dog feed.

The Singer Imperial 7005 does not have a feed dog lever. Instead there is a feed dog cover that gets placed over the needle plate. To remove the cover, raise the needle and presser foot. Open the slide plate, then lift up the front edge (closest to the bobbin) of the cover. Then pull the feed dog cover away from the sewing machine.

See page 10 of the manual; it's page 12 of the PDF. The manual is available at the Singer manual search page: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals . The direct link to the manual is http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/676_7005.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Singer touch tronic 2000 feed dog will not advance fabric

Confirm the feed dogs are raised. Make sure the feed dog teeth, area under the needle plate and the bobbin area are clean of any debris, thread, or buildup. Some machines also have a presser foot pressure adjustment that increases the pressure the presser foot applies to the feed dogs. The feed dogs could be worn (never run the sewing machine without fabric between the presser foot & feed dogs).

Or, the machine has not had a thorough cleaning and oiling recently and the feed dogs are sticking from old oil.

Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...

6235 singer ! How do I raise feed dogs ???

According to the manual, there is an accessory that covers the feed dogs. (Shown as an accessory on page 4.) So the feed dogs should not raise or lower other then during normal sewing action of moving the fabric.

How do I get the feed dog up on model 6235

The feed dog for that machine is NOT designed to be raised or lowered; instead a cover is put over the needle plate. You might want to remove the needle plate--it's designed to be removed to access the bobbin case--and see if you can pop it up again. On models that DO have the ability to raise and lower their feed dogs, once it has been lowered, if you press the dial or lever to raise it, it won't raise until the hand wheel is turned one or two times.
