SOURCE: 1.5 hp waterway champion pool pump issue

Be sure you have connected the motor to the line leads correctly and that the motor is set for the proper line voltage.

A somewhat common problem is that most motors are dual voltage (can be ran on 115 or 230 volt) and come factory set for 230 volts. If you connect it to a 115 volt circuit it will run for a while and then overheat and shut off.

SOURCE: I have a Waterway SVL56

That means that the connection between the motor and the actual centrifugal pump is broken. This is terminal: replacing the broken part will cost you more than the price for a brand new pump. Just cut your losses and replace it.

SOURCE: I have a Waterway 48-Frame 2HP 115v pool pump for

Check to see that the pool pumps mounting is secure. Loose mounting could cause the motor to run loudly. It could be bearings rubbing or a bent shaft. If it is new, this should not have happened. If you check the mounting and feel that it is secure, I would return the pump to an authorized Waterway service agent and let them look to see if the bearings or shaft are damaged. I would do this quickly while you can still return the pump if its defective.

Sounds like you don't have the pump lid "0" ring seated properly under the lid, or there is dirt or leaves on the "0" ring. This has to seal perfectly or the pump will not pump much if any water.

SOURCE: waterway pool pump is humming but fan is not turning

Shorted motor windings, can you move the turbine when turned on or does it feel like it is being held in place. WARNING!!! do not try with your hand, use a tool. Possible capacitor, but I would suspect motor to turn slowly.

Filter working but making noise

This is an inexpensive product put out by China Manufacturing. So sorry to say, but you probably knew this as well, it is not of high quality and was not made to last. It actually is considered a Toy.
It sounds like you need to either live with the noise or replace the pump. I would recommend that if you can find it in the budget, upgrade to a real Pool Pump. Ask your local service provider or retail pool supply store about such an upgrade. But your pump is failing.
Good Luck.

I have Hayward Centurian SE 2 hp pool motor pump, around 15 years old. Just the other day it started making a loud whining noise. Is there a quick fix for this?

if its whining but still spinning, the bearings are done. If it just makes a loud noise, the capacitor could be bad or the bearings have seized.

Sounds like the bearings are worn. If they are you will soon need a new pump.

Problems with Intex Krystal Clear Model 635 Pool Filter Pump 1500

No, the pump should not be noisy. It sounds like you have picked up a foreign object in the pump housing. you may have to pull the face off to determine. OR the pump/motor is indeed defective and should be returned.

Pool filter making a loud noise

The sound you are hearing is most likely rust forming on the inside of the motor. It tends to happen when a pump seal starts to fail. Water travels up the spining shaft from behind the impeller into the motor. The high pitch is a direct result.
Solution. Replace the pump seal, and find a motor repair shop/ Pool pump repair shop to take a look at the motor. Have them check the brushes and bearings. Once clean of rust the motor should be quiet once again.
