I purchased a MS Wireless Notebook Mouse 3000 off Ebay. Got the mouse and receiver only. Was told it was Plug and Play. Do I need the CD to get it to work? The mouse lights, but not the receiver. I installed the driver off the MS website. Sechronized(sp?) the mouse & receiver. Still nothing. Can anyone help? Did I get ripped off?

- I think your right, I got ripped off!I tried installing the receiver as new hardware, No go. No problems with other USB's. Also installed the driver off the MS website. Still nothing. It's going back with negetive feedback since they want me to pay the postage. Thanks.

It may be your USB port, if the receiver isn't lighting up. Try it in a different slot.
You can also go to control panel > Device Manager > Action (menu) > Scan For Hardware Changes. That should auto-detect and install any new hardware you add.

- If the receiver isn't working, it's probably faulty hardware. You could confirm by testing on another computer, and if the light doesn't come on, or it doesn't recognize new hardware, it's most likely broken.Yes
