Belt diagram 1997 toyota corolla? alternator belt replacement?

The 97 Corolla has three accessory belts. The alternator belt is the one you see when you look down on the passenger side standing near the front of the engine compartment. If fits over the alternator and the engine pulley. The belt beneath it is the a/c belt (if the car has a/c). It fits over the engine pulley and the a/c compressor. The power steering belt is toward the rear of the engine compartment, on the same side. It fits around the engine pulley and the power steering pump.

Replacing the alternator belt is not too difficult. Standing in front of the car and facing towards the rear, loosen the locking bolt under the right side of the alternator. Then loosen the alternator hinge bolt on top of the alternator. Now you are ready to loosen the alternator belt tensioner adjustment bolt, accessed under the alternator from the front. Turn the tensioner until the old belt is loose enough to remove, then turn it further so that the new belt will go on easily. Replace the belt and re-tension until you have about 1/4 in. to 1/8 in. of play in the belt, tighten the lock bolt and the hinge bolt, and run the engine. If the belt squeals it means you need more tension, but do not overtension. Recheck it after a few days.

How does one remove the a/c unit on a 1997 Geo Tracker? Will removal affect the heating water flow?

By law you should have a repair shop pump down the freon from the system before you remove the ac unit.If you are not planning on replacing it and the system is discharged then just remove or cut the lines. If you don't have a seperate belt just for the ac unit then you may have to try and find a ac pulley kit that replces your unit with a idler pulley.Or may just have to find a shorter belt.If it runs off of a seperate belt then no worries. And no this will not affect your heat.

AC clutch is grinding how do i fix? 1997 buick lesabre

Remove the clutch with a clutch removal tool after removing nut. The pulley for the belt does not need to be removed. The clutch needs to be shimmed with some small thin shims or shim that look like washers to space it out from the pulley. You will not lose freon doing this.

I need to remove the engine belts

The A/C and alternator are easy enough. They both have bolts that hold them in place/adjust the belt tension. Loosen these bolts and shift your alternator and A/C compressor to free the belts. The timing belt? It requires removing the valve cove.

Can you run a 1997 corolla without the a/c belt

Take a close look to see if any other pulleys are on that belt. If it's just the A/C compressor, crank pulley, and maybe a tentioner, you can run without it.
Power sterring, the alternator, and water pump must be on a different belt!

Remove the radio from 1997 Toyota Corolla

i have a 97 corolla as well, and i've changed the radio out several times on my own. if you take a small screwdriver and stick it in between the panel that goes around the around the area where the radio is, u should be able to pry it off relatively easy. just be sure to remove the sliders off the AC controls before you do. after you pop that panel off, you just have to disconnect the wiring harnesses going to the clock, hazard lights, rear defroster, and AC button. the radio is bolted in there with a mounting bracket, so you'll have to unscrew that as well. you'll need to unscrew that bracket from the radio you have in there, and mount it to the one you wanna install....hopefully this helps you out. it sounds harder than it really is.

How to change the Compressor and Alternator belts? Corolla 1997

First, you will need a lot of money. A GM air conditioner compressor is very expensive.

I would only let a qualified mechanic make this replacement.

After all, the compressor costs about 800 to 1,000 dollars. i would only trust a mechanic to work on my cadillac
