If your pc is not finding the drivers you can try to go to the manufatures web sight too look for them or it might just be a reg error ez to fix but let try the drivers first if you cant find them online plsz give me the manufatures name and moldel name or # to search.

My dvd drive are not sense by my laptop. Show drives may be corrupted or missing (code 39). My driver is pioneer dvdrw-dvr-k17bata.

Try uninstalling through the device manager. Once uninstalled reboot and see if the drive is recognized and software/drivers install automatically. This should fix the problem. Hope this helps.

If running XP:
First try uninstalling DVD/CD the device using the Device Manager.
Then restart PC and see if all goes well.

If no success go to ms knowledge base
And see what they recommend. I used their tool and that fixed my problem.

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is the problem of not matching/support the motherboard of your driver with Pioneer DVD. U just go the manufacturing site of Pioneer dvd and download the driver / updates and then install it. (Before u uninstall the driver). Then fix it.

Hi, the error code that you have on the CD/DVD drive is a known issue from Microsoft. The error code means "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (code 39)".
Since you are using a Toshiba laptop; you can click on this link and click on the repair tool on the resolution. This is applicable on both Windows Xp and Vista and will delete the upper/lowerfilters on the registry.

In case that the error code still exist you need to manually delete the upper/lowerfilters under the registry by clicking on this link . You need to go the "Run" screen then type in "regedit" and click OK or hit the enter key.

This will surely fix the error code that you have on the CD/DVD drive.
