SOURCE: Plugged defrost drain line in KitchenAid Refrigerator KTRS22KHBT00

If the freezer is on top then empty out the freezer and remove the bottom and back liner of the freezer compartment usually phillips screws. In the back you will see the freezer coils along with a defrost element. Below these two items u will see a drip tray that collects water from the coils on defrost cycle, in the center of the pan will be a drain hole that connects to a hose that leads to a pan under the refrigerator.Normally the water is collected there and evaporated. The hole in the tray in the freezer is clogged. Thaw it and clean it until you can pour water in it and it goes to the pan down below. please rate me
algae, bread ties andf other thing mysteriously get in there and clogg it

SOURCE: I have a maytag MSD2754GR, the freezer bottom is all iced

The drian hole has become stopped up and ice has accumulated in the the drian hole. You will need to unplug the fridge and remove the cover on the back (located at the bottom, 6 screws). On the freezer side there is a drian hole with a rubber 90 and a clear line that runs to the drain pan. Remove line and unstop. Don't not put the line back on yet.

Now for the fun part, remove the basket and the two bottom shelves from the freezer. Half way up the back there are 2 screws that need to be removed. After removing screws pull up on the top cover to so you can remove the bottom cover. The bottom cover maybe froze to the coils and to the inside drain pan. Break the ice with a butter knife, and remove cover ( do not hit the coils). Now you need to break the ice that is froze to the the pan and under it. Once you have remove all the ice you will see the drain hole, use a small pointed object to break ice that is in drain hole. Now you can put the drain line back on and make sure that the other end is in the drain pan under the fridge. Now reassemble the fridge and plug it back up.

It took me about 20 minutes to do this.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Water line (inside freezer) is frozen shut

i always use a hair dryer just dont melt anything by getting too close. if the water line is freezing, most likely the valve that lets the water in is leaking thru just a little. this very small trickle is moving slowly enough that it has time to freeze. i would replace the valve. if it happens again you will have to put a water filter in the line because gunk in the water is making it stick part way open.

Water/ice in the bottom of freezer

Matt, you have a frozen condensate drain tube. Now, the easiest way to solve this is to thaw the drain line. Remove everything from the freezer, drawers too. Now you can either leave the unit unplugged over night or hurry up the drain thaw by using a hair dryer ( heat gun is too hot ) and aiming it at the center of the back panel in the freezer, center, bottom just at the bottom of the metal back panel. This is going to take some time, 2+ hours until it is totally thawed. To check, using a baster, squeeze some hot water into the drain trough under and behind the pack panel, it should drain out, if not, add more heat and time. Once this drain tube is completely thawed and flowing, order and install the following drain tube kit.
Drain Pipe W10619951
This will solve this common problem on Whirlpool/Maytag bottom freezer refrigerators.

Ice builds up at the bottom of the freezer compartment. This also causes water to leak out the bottom of the unit. we have had multiple service calls but the problem persists. Any suggestions would be...

The defrost drain line is frozen closed and has not been properly cleared and cleaned.
The drain line is found at the back wall of the freezer. You will have to turn off the refrigerator. Break up any ice especially in the drain trough at the lower back inside the freezer. Use a hair dryer to thaw out the drain hole. Pour 1 cup bleach in the drain hole once it is thawed out.

A pool of water accumulates in bottom of freezer and freezes . Drain is also frozen

Try thawing freezer and clearing the drain line with pressure to remove blockage. If it happens again the drain line heater is probably bad.

I have ice at the bottom of my side by side GE TFX30PRY. It seems to be a clogged drain but I'm not sure where the drain is located on this model

Remove the bottom freezer crisper , and at the bottom of the panel ( it looks like you have a drain trough cover which has to be removed ) , if its not frozen over with ice , youll see a drain hole . Use a hair dryer to defrost the drain until you see the hole . Then continue defrosting the hole until water will flow thru it . Sometimes , hot water helps to thaw the drain . When thawed , use a small hose inserted into the drain , and blow thru it , to clear out any debris in the line .

Water from freezer pools at the bottom

The drain line for the evaporator is frozen shut. You have to thaw the drain line that is located behind the rear wall in the freezer side. It is at the very bottom and will require a hair dryer or lots of hot water.

Water dripping from bottom of freezer casing

Your drain line is frozen. Ice thawed by the heater in the freezer normally drains down a tube into a pan on top of the compressor, where it evaporates from compressor heat. If the drain freezes the water runs into the freezer bottom instead of the tube then into your fridge. To solve this remove everything from your freezer and remove the access panel in the back or bottom depending on your model of fridge. Turn off or unplug the appliance. Upon removing the panel(s). you will likely see that the bottom of the freezer is full of ice. Use a hair dryer or heat gun to thaw ice and remove. In the very back bottom you will uncover the drainhole. I usually use very hot water and a shop vac to thaw the drain hole. When you finally clear it you will hear water running into the pan on top of the compressor. Somethimes it takes a lot of hot water to clear the drain. Hope this helps!

Your defrost drain line is clogged and frozen over with ice.
Turn off the fridge. Remove the bottom freezer drawer. Take a hair dryer and thaw the drain hole at the back bottom section of the freezer. After you defrost the drain line pour 1/4 cup bleach into the drain hole.

Water in freezer

The defrost drain is frozen. It is located at the back bottom of the freezer. Use a hair dryer to thaw it out and when thawed run hot water through it to check. Afterward, spray some "Pam Cooking Spray" into the drain so the water won't stick. This can be caused by the controls being set too cold or something in the drain line.
