Question about Acer Aspire Computers & Internet
Some more Details: The Laptop crashed while i was running a game (no external monitor was connected) It kinda looked like this, but with random colors http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/29953i776EA4E2C7D12F0A/image-size/original?v=mpbl-1&px=-1 I restarted the Laptop, but the internal Screen stays black. External Dcreen with VGA = Same result, The screen gets no signal. BUT the HDMI connection works (with issues -> 4 big Vertical Dotted lines) Also i get a BlueScreen at the windows loading screen, than I'm trying to boot into the normal mode as long i have a some graphic drivers installed. (SafeMode works) Wthout the graphic drivers installed i can boot into the normal mode without any problems. In normal mode, at the Screen Settings, Windows only shows the PnP Screen (HDMI). I already read in other Topics, that the internal Graphic CHip might have some broken solder points, but before i open the laptop i wanted to make sure if there might be another way to fix it. I hope that there is someone who knows what part of the Laptop is having problems/ mght be damaged. Greetings and thanks in advance, LG! PS Sorry for the Wall of Text, but there is no way to add line breaks here! -.-

Screen problems on laptops come down to three issues. Most common is the inverter, next is the cable that connects the screen to the motherboard and last is the motherboard. If you can see the image on the screen with a flashlight, it is not the cable or the motherboard.

Sounds like a problem with the LCD assembly or cable. You may want to reseat the LCD cable at the LCD end. It could be a loose internal connector in the LCD assembly.

The easiest thing would be to check your cable for a bent or loose pin. Next put another external monitor on the laptop. The circuitry to provide video to the laptop screen and the external monitor are separate except that they share a video processor and video memory. There can be bad electronics involved.

i know your problem. even if you change the inverter it will not work. the real problem of your notebook is vga memory or video memory. use hot air to resolder your memory. trust me!

I would back mothmans answer 100% but might suggest you re-assemble the display to the laptop if you continue to have problems getting an external display going.
