Indoor temp doesnt go to my punched in setting of 68 on therm

New homeowner so i am unfamilar with all this stuff.
I have set my honeywell therm. on cool (during these hot days) to 68 but the indoor temp of my home is never less than 78.
cool air is blowing around the home but my therm has a reading of about 78 (never lower)

I have checked this reading with a indoor digital therm which also read 78.

I have a honeywell thermostat that will not go below 68 on cool setting, how do I reset so I can lower the temperature

what is your thermostat model so i can give you the exact steps, but for now you can try out the best troubleshooting method out there...
take your thermostat off from your wall or where it is, locate the ppower cables and try to disconnect the cable, and just leave the thermostat for 15 minutes, after that reconnect the power cable and try it again..
good luck!!!

Honeywell tower fan

call the HVAC man. LOL
it's not a cooler or A/C, that the sales hype states !

its JUST A FAN, and fans only circulates air.
or if you are inshorts only, it help with wind chill and sweat evaporation,
I have a huge fan in my garage. just for that, and fume , reduction.

you set 68F and the temp goes UP, ?
but what goes up , do you mean the actually measured temperature? state what told you it went UP?

if yes, (actual temp) sure it can, if there is hotter air , say up high?
then you mixed in hot air with cooler air down low, and guess what
it does get hotter. (physics 101?)
what do you want to go down. ?
the actual air temperature?
or do you think you bought a real air conditioner.
?
to make real tempeture go down
buy a real air-conditioner, not a fan.

Press the Schedule Key. That shows when the system starts and shuts off. You can change temps in the schedule at the times you want.

My programmable thermostat current temp reading is 65 but my temp is set to 68. I noticed it yesterday also (read 66), and this is not normally the case. The "current temp" setting is normally...

What type of system do you have, Heat pumps have an AUX setting if that not comming on depending on where you live it may not keep up on its own. A gas furnace should give no trobble check you normal stuff like the filter and it is not on a program and changing over around the time you check it.

Honeywell programable thermostat not recognizing nigh time settin

This is the problem you have when you rely on "modern electronics". Suggest you buy a manual 'stat and just turn down the temp at bedtime. Make it cold and use a blanket, that is what we did in the " good 'ole days".

My honeywell thermostat Modle: RTH7500D does not stay on schedule. It keeps defaulting to a set temperature

If your manualy setting the program and it kicks itself off, then your therm is bad, look for your warranty paperwork, or call the distributer and give them model and serial, they can point you in the right direction. If your setting a temp and not manualy holding, then it will set back by default. Check your other settings, ensure they work as well..

HOW TO I SET TEMPERATURE ON A HONEYWELL NON DIGITAL T8085A?

If it's the old circular honeywell we had one like that for your heat you click the side setting to HEAT and then move the dial aperture to the desired temp. 68-70 degrees. If it's working properly it will make a slight click when it engages your furnace and then cycle it on and off throughout the day. Hop this helps.

Thermostat does not stop heat pump unit

Most of these problems are the program settings on these way overcomplicated thermostats. You will need to re-read the instructions on setting the programs. Or bite the bullet and buy a cheaper and simpler one. If you installed it yourself, make sure the settings on the inside are correct, like gas/electric heat, and 24 volts, stuff like that.
