Need to Know how to open up the case on this player to change the battery. Player works fine plugged in & says it is fully charged but when switching to battery I get no response from the power switch. Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Sharper Image MP4 Touch Player (NEW) not charging

Mine looked like that, however, it has 2 "on" buttons. The major one on the left. says on off. Put to on. Then the upper button on the right, is actually the on off/ push and hold for 3 sec. then wait, it should come right on.

The portable dvd player stoped working with or without the cord

I would check the power cable to ensure that nothing is broken. Then get your multimeter out and check to ensure that you are receiving 12-14.4 VDC to the plug that is inserted into the player. If both of those check out then you know it is the player itself. If you determine that it is the player, then you will need to open it up. Chances are that one of the capacitors have failed. You can normally tell because the case is swollen or leaking. If this is the case then you only need buy another cap and then replace it if you know how to solder.

Tru-tech protable DVD doesn't charge.

Check out or Google "Batteries Plus" they have all types of batteries for just about anything. They may be willing to open your original battery case and replace the OEM batteries with comparable batteries.

My PC is not recognizing my Insignia KIX MP3 player any longer

Have you tried changing the cable to another one you know works or have you reinstalled your players drivers?

if you haven't done so, try to uninstall the drivers for your device and then reinstall them. With the player plugged into your usb, open up your Device Manager.

for XP, right click your MY Computer on the desktop and select Properties, click the Hardware tab, click on the Device Manager button. Im not a Vista user but on there I believe you open the Properties on My Computer still, then on the left side of the System Information window, click the Device Manager link.
(or hold Windows Key and press the Pause key to open DM)

Once in the DM, locate your player. Usually under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers. It may be named Mass Storage Device or something else. If you cant recognize it in the list, unplug it an plug back in while looking at all the USB deviced currently installed.

If you see no changes at all as you plug/unplug your player then you may have another problem.

Cannot chage YP-K3 player

The usb message has nothing to do with the ability of the unit to charge. It just means that the port on your computer is recognised as a USB 1.1 port.

It is more likely that the battery no longer holds a charge. The battery can be replaced but it is difficult to open up the unit without damaging the casing. There are instructions on opening up the unit on youtube. Other than buying a faulty unit with a working battery I don't know how to get hold of the batteries. Be careful when replacing the battery. If it is connected the wrong way you will fry your unit.

Problems with my sandisk sansa mp3

Do any of the songs play? It may be that the song(s) are corrupted. If this is the case, delete the songs and try to download them from somewhere else or, if you uploaded from a cd put them on again and see if they work. It also might be the jack that these speakers are plugged into. Sometimes the port for the speaker plug is made incorrectly, and the plug is too loose inside to actually connect, but tight enough to stay in. If it's a base cradle, does it work? Are you missing any batteries( if battery powered), or is the plug in the outlet right? Is the player connected properly? Is it actually FOR the player, or is it only for a certain type of player that you don't have? It by 'speaker' you mean headphones, the wires might be disconnected in some places. If that's the case, buy some $0.98 headphones from walmart and attempt it with those. Are the volume bars on the player and the speakers high enough up?

How to unfreeze mp3 player

We have a toshiba gigabeat f20. today it worked fine, listened to it for hoursbefore turning it off. turned it on within a hour to play it and got a blank screen. nothing in the environment could have caused this. battery had been replaced a week before. so, took the case off to opened it and take a look. realized that one of the plug ins for the screen had come loose or slightly lifted inside. it did not totally unplug, just not pressed down tight. pushed it back in. put the case back on. hit the power button and it's back on, nothing that had been previously loaded was lost.

Not turning on

try plugging the usb lead in and dont press  nothing on the mp3 player plug it into your computer it should switch itself on and you should be able to open the file on your computer and see whats on it if this dont work then it is beyond repair if it comes on and your computer can download files off and onto it then its is a battery problem might be that a wire has come off the battery terminal if this is the case and it works when plugged into your computer then it is possible to repair it you will need to take the case off and look at the wires that go onto the battery terminal this is usually the problem but to repair it you will need a small soldering iron but it would be cheaper to get to an electrical shop and they should do it for you for about 5 to 10 pound if it dont work when plugged into pc then ii is beyond repair sorry hope this is not the case good luck hope this is some help to you.............

Opening Case for Repair, Defective Head Phone Port

I had the same problem with my SanDisk SDMX1 player. After you remove the battery you can slide down the two plastic endcaps of the MP3 player shell (one end has the headphones and microphone and the other end has the usb input). After you slide both of them off the player can be pulled apart into the two peices of the outer shell and the internal "guts." The spot to resolder was hard to get to with a conventional soldering iron. Since I didn't have one I just heated up a paper clip tip on the stove to red hot and pressed it to the area that needed soldering and rubbed on the solder. My MP3 player now works fine (I was amazed it worked) If you need more detail please ask.
