Gas meters are usually rated in cubic feet per minute (CFM) not BTU. there are 1027 BTU per cubic foot so do the math. Try the link below Btu rating on natural gas meter

SOURCE: How can I tell how many BTU's my natural gas meter

The easiest way is to add up total of all gas appliances in house, using information from each appliance label.
Measure diameter of pipe at meter.
Call gas company and ask them if you need larger pipe and/or meter coming into house.

Following pdf has calculations for figuring:

SOURCE: How can I tell how

I have a Rheem PTG-74XP tankless. I had the same code 12, low/inconsistant gas problem (assumption). In my case the gas (propane) pressure coming in was fine, the reason the flame rods/electrodes would not burn correctly was residue on/in them. It hasn't happened since they were cleaned. Hope this helps, dj :)

Why wont takagi tk jr doesnt heat

Flowmeter.....Gas Pressure.....Ignition?
I'm not psychic.
Tk-Jr is a dependable 140-145,000 BTU 2nd Gen Unit SS Vent , <.82 EF.
Failure is a Tech Service issue and the Tech may need Factory Support from California. This is probably a pre-A.O. Smith/Takagi unit
Does the igniter spark 3 times than shut down and fan purge HE? Can you smell gas tracer (remember NG/LP is odorless w/o mercapthan in it)? Tech will need a digital Manometer for Line and Manifold Pressure Test. And a Multi-Meter Toll Free # on Unit or in Manual

How much gas (energy) does a rheem HT55 use per hour in average?

I think HT55 is Australian water heater.
You can add a comment and describe the product in detail since I cannot find that number listed on Rheem site.
The problem with water heater ratings is they are meant as industry comparisons for new units that are operating at peak performance. They do not account for factors at your location such as mineral build up, incoming water temperature, faulty parts, un-maintained parts, obstructed venting, etc.

To get accurate number will require work on your part:
1) You can add a gas meter to that one appliance.

2) Or look at gas meter reading at beginning of day. Digital gas meter would be necessary.
Turn off all other gas appliances, or make sure just the pilot light is only thing operating.
For a full day, let the HT55 operate normally.
Read gas meter at end of day.
Analog meter would be hard to read with only one day.

3) Another way is to look at BTU rating of all gas appliances on the same meter.
Figure weighted average of each appliance based on amount of time each appliance operates and amount of gas it consumes when running. Then figure percentage of gas that HT55 consumes. Read the gas meter one day, and then read meter again 30 days later, and take percentage that HT55 consumes.

Rheem Eco-180dvn. Error code 12

actually, does it give you a big rumble? if it does, then your problem is that the meter's btu's are not high enough and there's too litle gas getting to the heater so it's blowing itself out, basically. you'll need to call your gas provider and ask for them to bring in a higher btu meter. around 220,000 btu meter is best, so your furnace and gas stove(if you have one) dont take to much gas themselves, meaning dont get a 180,000 btu meter, because it would only be able to supply the heater.

Rheem Eco-180dvn. Error code 12 -- interrupted gas or low gas supply. 1'' gas supply all the way to 3/4'' shut off valve at appliance. Gas company checked meter pressure: 275K btu meter with 7.1 psi at...

you shouldn't have 7.1 psi at the unit, they are built for about a half pound at the unit, how far is the unit from the meter? the meter might be a bit under sized, if you have 180k at the tankless on btu's then you have atleast 110k at your furnace that right there puts you over what your meter can handle, you add a fireplace or a dryer or even a stove then your quite a bit over! you also want to check your vent length, make sure your counting the bends because depending on the bend it could take anywhere from 3-6 feet off the allowable vent length.

Problems with bosch 1600h ng tankless wh igniting

I found that the solution to my issue of not igniting was due to a bad pilot electrovalve part #8708501249. It was about a $50 part that was bad from the start.
Really disappointing that Bosch's QA would let a such a defective part ship. I spent about 3 years of using a workaround with a fan blowing air to get ignition until it finally failed. I had a tech look over the system to point me in the right direction.
