The Stanley TRE300 stapler and it's staples have been discontinued and are no longer available. However, the Sears brand extra wide crown staples will fit this stapler.
The size & code of staple is usually on the side of the tool , ie 80/ 14 means it takes an 80 series staple & max staple length it can take is 14 mm. Hope this helps
The big box stores (Lowes, Home Depot, etc) don't carry the full Stanley line. Ace and TrueValue (or equivalent) may carry staples for this unit. You can always find them online. Amazon will probably have them.
Hi,
That is a common problem with those guns...have returned quite few of them that did not last more then a few hundred staples...my local hardware returned them got credit for them and gave me new ones...they are a poor excuse for a staple gun but there is not much of an alternative to them...
Fire the stapler with the load chamber open and down, see if anything falls out. Point it in different positions and fire it, just make sure it cannot fire anything at you.
