This sounds like a problem with the string tension. There is a dial on the front of the machine for adjusting this. Also make sure that the bobbin is correctly threaded in the bobbin case.

Problem with Brother CS-8150 Computerized Sewing Machine
bottom thread from theh bobbin is in big loops.
I have a CS-8150 as well -it was fine until I decided to clean the shuttlecock and I thought I had put it back correctly. However, it was after replacing the shuttlecock in place that my bobbin thread was making big loops and no matter what tension it kept doing it. So I removed everything out of the bobbin area. Cleaned and made sure that the shuttlecock was exactly in place as per the manual. Guess what it does not make big loops any more.
Just a suggestion.
