Noise in reverse

sounds like a brake issue but paul is right it could also be the u-joints I suggest taking a look at the brakes first though also is the noise coming from the rear or front of the vehicle?

Squeaking Noise

to check if belt spray water on the belt and if the squeak goes then adjust /replace the belt. When the belt dries out the noise will be back unless you do something to fix it.

SQUEAKY!

Petroleum will rot bushings, you may consider a car wash with and undercarriage sprayer and see if noise goes away. This may indicate a bushing problem if noise goes away. If not, ball joint probably.

I have 1999 ford explorer rear wheel drive when i crank it up an put it in drive it starts beeping

Not really enough info from you about your car or problem. A rough guess would be the transmission mount is loose, worn, broken or otherwise damaged. When you say "beeping noise", is that like the sound you hear when a bus or emergency vehicle is placed in reverse, or is it more like a mechanical squeaking or chirping type noise? Check your transmission mount. That may be your problem. Hope this helps you out.

Mechanic advised torque converter caused transmission to go bad. will go in reverse but no power. also when driving, goes from 1st to 2nd with difficulty then when going in to 3rd, makes an awful squeaking...

well based on the symptoms you need a new or rebuilt transmission, as to the cause, yes the TC can cause a failure, but it is a guess on there part is my opinion

Tranny makes noise in 1st gear then goes away in 2nd gear

It could be the U joints in your drive shaft. If there is no problem to the transmission as to it's performance other then the squeaking noise in revers or slow speeds. Most likely it's going to be the U joint, the factory U joints don't have grease fitting and only have a life time of service.
The u joints may have reached it's life time and need to be replaced. You have two of them and most of the time it's just one that goe's bad, but changed them both since the drive shaft needs to be removed from the truck.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Whining noise when engaging 1st or reverse.

i had a nissan pickup that would whine in all gears except 4th...it started out with 1st then reverse then went to the rest...solution was new transmission...or rebuild cause the syncronizers or the gears them selves are being chewed up...the new transmission was cheaper then a rebuild. or take it to somewhere that will do free diag on the transmission.
