Question about LG Washing Machines

1 Answer

Wm1355hw Our condo assn. is requiring us to switch out hot/cold water hoses for our LG compact washer. We would prefer braided stainless, but we have been getting mixed signals whether they are available for this unit. Are there standard size (both hoses and fittings) we could purchase to replace the rubber hoses that came with this washer?

Yes washing machine hoses are standard size and available at places like Lowes, Home Depot, anyplace that sells appliances. You can get the ones you want with the stainless overbraid to fit your washer.

I replaced the hot & cold water valves on my LG Washer/Dryer .Now it just humms and no water goes into the washer..What can cause this problem?

have you tried both the cold and hot?hot only has one solenoid while the cold has three.just because it is a new part dose not mean it is not mean it is a good part.try this, turn off the cold and hot water, remove the cold hose from the washer and put it in a bucket and turn it on at the hose bib.if you do not get water, you may have a screen in the hose bib end of the hose.if no screen on that end you may have a metal fitting rusted up just under the hose bib.check the hot side also.hope this helps,if not repost and i will try to dig deeper.thanks

Those are for the supply inlets, hot and cold to the faucet. If you are using supply hoses from your hot and cold water, you will not need these washers. You will need them if you are using rigid copper or chrome pipe to connect from your water supply.

If you have a choice, use stainless steel braided supply hoses instead of rigid pipe.

Kenmore model # 110.26842694 the water is just trickling in. is this the pump?

Probably not the pump. Your washing machine hoses have screens in both ends. Shut off the hot and cold water and remove the hoses and clean the screens on the ends of the hose. Let me know if this helps. If these hoses have any age to them, I would highly recommend replacing with stainless steel braided hoses.

Washer temp setting changes by itself

I also have a Whirlpool washer/dryer for my condo, although I don't know the model number of mine. I had the same problem -- after it was precisely a year old, suddenly one day the hot and cold started coming out reversed. I was able to fix mine by more or less temporarily fiddling with the water pressure. What I did was one time, when the rinse cycle was running and the washer was filling up with hot water (grrrr...), I completely shut off the valve supplying hot water. So at that point the water stopped filling into the washer, and then I started tinkering with the cold water, twisting the valve off and on a few times. Then BINGO, suddenly the cold water "kicked in" and for the remainder of the rinse cycle, it filled the washer with cold water. I then turned the hot water valve back on, and since then it has been running correctly.

Did you check to see if the hot and cold are hooked up backwards? Try switching them.

Cold water trickle hot water runs good

turn off water valves at wall, disconnect the supply hoses from the washer. where the hoses connect to the washer, there is usually a stainless steel screen/strainer inline on both the hot and cold inlet. corrosion on the cold side is pretty common. Menards, Lowes Home Depot stores sell the replacment screeens.

Washing machine will not fill w/ hot or cold water

Could be an air lock in the water pipes, turn off the water to the washer, disconnect the hoses, and hold them over the sink or into a bucket, then turn the water taps back on to the washer.
The water should come through at full pressure.,
If it does not , then the problem is with your supply and not the washer.
Hope this helps.
Plz leave feedback.

Washing Machine-hot water source

Most washers require both hot and cold supply. If it has two hose fittings on the back, then you need both hot and cold. I've only seen Asko washers that need just the cold. Even if your washer has a water heat option, it will only heat during a portion of the cycle if the option is selected, it is not a substitute for the hot water supply.

No hot water entering

1. Make sure water comes out of the hot water hose into a bucket.
2. Check to make sure the solenoid valve is working. The buzzing is the 60Hz on the coil and can make a lot of noise if valve does not operate properly. Try blowing into the hot water port. If the solenoid is functioning properly air will move freely, if not its stuck.
