Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Incidentally, I assume you're talking about the Kenwood KNA-DV4100? Also, I assume this unit has come into your hands through legitimate sources. It is NOT an accusation when I mention that electronic equipment absent of an operator manual CAN have dubious origins. Again, this is NOT an accusation. Rather, it's always good to know where such a unit came from. When an owner's manual is missing, it raises a flag - unless, of course, you know and trust the person selling it to you. At any rate, you can simply download a manual at Kenwood's website, below. Simply copy-and-paste into your internet browser's address bar: http://www.kenwoodusa.com/support/simple.aspx?men=2&M2=69

On the wiring harness there is a green parking sensor wire (PRK SW) that you have to hook up. All you have to do is ground that anywhere on the chassis of the car then youll be set.

I could not see which links you have followed previously, so I apologise if you have tried this....
This page is specifically for map updates:
https://my.garmin.com/maps/checkPlugin_updates.htm and involves you downloading some software and then plugging in your device via USB.
Not sure if it's free or not, though. No mention of cost at initial stage

SOURCE: military and moving to europe
If you were to buy and use this system in the US there would be no problem, but you encounter difficulties when trying to use in europe or Australia. The unit would have to be modified in order to use navigation, dvd playback and radio functions. Only specialized audio outlets would be able to carry out this modification at a cost to you. Usually the cost would be around $40 for the service but as I am from the UK I am not sure who would be able to do this for you, possibly the supplier if it is not direct from Kenwood.
I hope this helps
