It sounds like you are describing the needle valve....does it have a float?

I don't know exactly what kind of carburator you have, is there a parts diagram or manual that you are working off of that I can look at?

Motor in pressure washer not working. plug and cable okay.

Is it a Briggs engine? Is it a professional engine by Briggs? If so these engines have an auto choke system that is run off the thermostat off the exhaust that controls a tang that opens and closes the choke.

If its not working it may need adjusting. But more than likely you have either bad fuel or a restricted fuel jet. The jet is on the bottom of the carburetor bowl. Use a 1/2 inch socket or an off set wrench to remove the nut, it is brass so don;t go crazy, Also it has a felt bad washer called a sealing washer. If there is old gas in the fuel tank, go ahead and remove the fuel hose attached to the carburetor and drain it too. I have seen gas so old it looks like Vaseline! Wash out the carburetor bowl with a paper towel and check the small holes in the brass bowl nut because that is your jet. Clean it with carburetor cleaner, acetone, or a fine wire make sure it is clean..

reassemble the carburetor bowl and hand tighten the brass jet, again it is brass threading into aluminum so don;t go crazy. Also if you took the fuel line off go and put it back on, Try non ethanol gas and give it a try, Make sure you don;t disturb the carburetor bowl gasket .. Here is a pic to help ya

Little brass piece with the hole in it and the o ring fell out when I took the bowl off my 17.5briggs. I must have put it back in the wrong place when it back together. Does anyone know where it goes?

Is it a Nikki carb? The little brass piece is the main jet and goes in the long tube in the center of the plastic piece that holds the float and float needle. It is inserted from bottom side and seats in the top of the tube.

I took apart the carburetor on a Tecumseh LEV100 motor and the little "spring" that is part of the float assembly fell out. I'm not sure exactly how to put it back in and I feel like this...

Hi v0lten...
Yes the problem with the mower not running is the little spring you talked about is missing from under the float arm of the carburetor. It is necessary for the mower to run right.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The little spring inside of the carburetor goes under the float arm.
That is where your fuel inlet needle/float valve is located...on the arm at the end.
Normally there is a small indetion in the carburetor base and a small protrusion on the underneath of the float arm where the spring will be in the right postion for installation.
The spring will set in the indention and you will install the float arm with the needle/float valve and float rod into position over top of the spring, you will push down until it is in position and then you can tighten the screw that holds the float arm assembly in position.
Your carburetor should be working properly to run now as long as you do not have other problems in the fuel system or electrical problems.

Bike starts and runs ok but wont rev out .Thanks in advance

check the air filter is not obstructed or dirty. if thats ok then it is more than likely the carbs that need attention/resetting/cleaning out

CARBURATOR assembly

not sure but sounds like you are talking about the clip that holds the needle in place.
you need to know which slot the clip was in and put it back on the same one.
get online and type in the make of the carb.
lots of info out there and good parts breakdown pictures that can help.
good luck

Getting fuel to the carb but not in the carb what should i do to fix this?

if fuel is not getting into the venturi of the carberettor, the top needs to be removed and look at the needle and seat assembly to determine whether or not the valve itself is sticking or there is something caught in the way. the needle and seat assembly will be a little brass piece right near the fuel inlet and will have a little rocket looking device which closes and opens the inlet as neccessary. happy holidays

Need the carburetor assembly manual

It is either a Walbro or a Zama carb. I think both mfrgs have a website w/ parts breakdowns. But both carbs are the same as to the placement of diaphragms + gaskets. On the side with the inlet needle the gasket goes on first and then the metering diaphragm. On the fuel pump side the diaphragm goes against the carb body and then the gasket before the cover.
