The problem is that you need to take it apart in back and unplug the hose, unit connecting to hose and clean it out which is most likely the reason it shuts down for your safety, supprised the internal fuse didn't blow. Hope this helped!

I have a Waterway Insulated wetend pump 1 HP. Model # SD-10-2N11MC It has power to the pump but doesn't work. 118 Volts per wire. Makes no noise but keeps blowing fuses. A Balboa VS501Z power unit.

You have a short some place or the motor or pump itself is shot or seized causing it to shut itself down by blowing fuses. Could be bad bearings.
See if you can turn the shaft on the motor.by hand with it not plugged in that will tell you where the problem could be. .

I am using an AO Smith motor on a Hayward pump to run my pond. It is about 4 years old now. Most recently, in the hot weather (90+F in the Northeast) the pump just shut off as I was watching the...

pump is protected with a thermo switch made inside the motor to shut it off if it gets to hot check for oil ports at the bearings if it dose not have them maybe try adding a ball valve and turning down the flow some to create slower flow and higher pressure

The Dryer is starting, but shuts off after 10-15mins. It seems to be very hot. Is there an overheating element or something that can be easily replaced?

This certainly sounds like an overheating element. The problem is that the element is working. Something is allowing the element to get too hot. Then your over-limit switch is sensing the fire hazard and shutting down the system. Safety in action.
I suspect your blower fan is not running. This fan keeps the heating element from over heating by blowing the heat to the clothes in the drum. This is easily checked. The very next time you attempt to dry a load, start it and go to the exhaust vent outside. Put your hand close to it. See if it is blowing air or not. No air blowing = shut down in 10 minutes.
The blower motor should not be too hard to replace. Surely easier than the element itself. Before you pull the motor, use a multimeter to confirm that power is getting to the motor first. Power yes, motor running no, replace it.
Could also be something simple, like a wire broken or pulled off of the motor. That is why you check first. Good luck

Vacuum cleaner shuts off after short use. What's the reason. Motor seems very hot.

Almost all vacuum cleaners have a thermal cut-out, which operates when the machine gets too hot. It resets automatically when it cools down. Overheating is almost always caused by a blockage. Either the filters need cleaning or changing, or there's an obstruction somewhere in the pipe-work. Make sure all the pipes are clear so there's good air flow and you should be back in business. If the problem persists there may be trouble with the motor itself, in which case you'll need professional help (or a new machine). Good luck!

Hot tub pump stops and control panel says there is a flo problem

Yes a pump does have a thermal cut out. When the motor gets too hot the thermal cut out will activate and the pump won't restart until the motor has cooled.

If you were an electrician, or highly confident/competent with electrics, you could test the motor with a volt meter. Run the spa and as soon as the pump stops running, check the voltage at the pump. If there is voltage at the pump, then the thermal cut out on the motor has activated. Do not try checking this yourself if you're not competent to do so.

You could also do the same test at the spa pack if it's easier to do so, just locate the output to the pump.

What spa and which spa pack have you got?

Cheers,
Ian.

I have a maytag pavt454eww. I am looking for a fuse or a thermal circut breaker somewhere. The motor smelled hot and shut off. Is there something in the circut to protect the motor?

YES, THERE IS A OVERLOAD PROTECTOR ON THE MOTOR ITSELF. THERE HAS TO BE A REASON WHY THE MOTOR IS GETTING EXCESSIVELY HOT. PROBABLY A BEARING THAT IS BINDING.

Motor gets hot in moments and shuts off

True, the motor has safety measures to stop it from overheating... that's why it shut down. You smelled something, so some kind of damage was done. It's possible that the over temp switch itself got fried. Doesn't sound too good from here.
