Question about Snapper Garden

Should I replace the cable that connects from the safety bar cable to the motor?

My Snapper self propelled walk behind Briggs & Stratton motor will start but, is low on power even when I have the throttle on high. When I pull on the the cable that attaches from the safety bar to the motor it gets more power then will cut off. It seems to be stretched out. Should I replace the cable that connects from the safety bar to the motor?

You should tighten the cable unless it is frayed and/or broken. If it is not frayed, just tighten it. Don't overtighten it or it will keep stalling.

I have a Snapper self-propelled lawnmower and The starter cord will not pull out to get it started. What do I do next?

Hi Patricia,
There is probably a safety lever that has to be pulled back toward the handle in order to release the flywheel. (This lever is on the top side of handle.) Once you have it firmly against the handle it should start. To stop the mower, simply release the lever. There may also be a 2nd lever to engage the self-propelled (located under the handle). It may be difficult to start with this one pulled.

Replcing mower belt

Is this a riding mower or a walk behind? If it's a walk behind and has a belt it has to be the belt that turns the self-propelled gear box. Which is it?

Have a self-starting, self propelled toro lawn mower about 5 years old, I ran it out of gas by accident & now it won't start

It seems to be an obstruction in your fuel delivery system. Get a can of ether and a spray a short burst of it into the breather area near the carburetor, if the mower starts up and then stalls out, then you may need to get your carburetor serviced.

There is a flywheel brake that is contolled by the safety bar of the handle. If the cable to the safety bar has broken or is no longer attached the the flywheel brake will be on. Not only that there is an ignition Kill switch as part of the flywheel brake. If the brake is on, the kill switch is activated.

Your mower needs some simple maintenence
1. Recoil assembly repaired or replaced.
2, Throttle cable and control repaired or replaced (Item 10 below link)
3. User Safety Bar cable adjustment or replacement. (Item 11 below link)

The above items are not a good reason to call your mower a parts source.

Without a model number I had to GUESS which model this was.
This is my best guess:

I have a walk behind mower. It will start but the tires will not move.

If it's self-propelled the belt is either broken or has come off one or both pulleys it rides in. Check the belt if it's belt driven.
