Question about Amana Kitchen Ranges

Open Question

Amana artsc8651 Why is my control panel flashing between timer and clock and beeping every time it flashes. Last night my Amana Electric Slide-In Range started beeping. I was in the living room and had not used the range for hours, and the timer had not been used for a couple of weeks. I tried to shut off the timer, nothing happened. I tried to reset the clock, which I did successfully, but just a couple of minutes later it started flashing and beeping again. I just went and flipped the breaker to shut it all off. I am terrified of fire and did not want to take a chance of the range starting itself or having it go into self-cleaning mode, which I have never used. The range is a little over 11 years old. What do I do now? Thank you.

SOURCE: Jenn-Air electric range

my jen-Air has a problem with it continuing to beep. Ive tried to get it to stop by pushing all the buttons. When I pust the off/cancel button it just keeps beeping. Tried the stop timer button and same thing. When I turn on either the bake or convection bake button it automatically just shuts off by itself. It is approx 10-13 years old. HELP, or please tell me to get a new one.

Did you have a power failure? Could be an overheat situation. Try unplugging the unit, wait 30 seconds and plug it in again. This resets the unit as long as there isn't a breaker or fuse blown. If it is a power issue, the display should start flashing. Did you get any error codes?

This is Amana's fault and is common on several oven models and types.
Your timer and clock control board has some loose solder joints and they can be re-attached by any competent electrical repair shop with soldering skills. TV shops can often be convinced to do this for you for a nominal fee.

F1 error on SS Amana Convection wall oven

The control panel has a design problem, and it gets dirty and worn over time. I have replaced mine once, and it happened again less than 2 years later. I took the panel out, and inspected it. I found a web solution that said to shim the panel out away from the housing slightly because it rubs on the metal housing around it and damages the control board contacts. I could see little scratch marks on the plastic skin around the edge of the button area, so that made sense. I tried it, and it still did not work.....panel was still beeping. Mine seemed to be the timer control buttons that were going on and off. So, I took it out again, and actually peeled the control surface off of the control board. No going back now, I thought. I got it off and looked at the control panel. It looked fine, but there was a lot of gunk and wear marks around the edge of the plastic button area. I cleaned it up with alcohol swabs, and put the cover back on the board. It was still sticky enough to go back on. I reinstalled it, and "bingo" no more problem. It has been fine for 3 months now. Yahooo!
