Hifonics Brutus BRX2400.1D

I purchased a Hifonics Brutus BRX2400.1D 3 months ago. I have it running 2 12" Alpine Type Rs In a sealed box running at 2 ohms. I had everything professionally installed by a car stereo shop. At first it seemed at times that the amp was not pushing as hard as it was initially (approx 2 months after install). Now the amplifier is not pushing at all at times (sometimes a day or two at most). The amplifier power light is on, the protection light is off, and all LEDs on the amp are lit. The sub woofers also play through the voice coils, just no bass. I took it back to the audio shop that did the install and they checked everything from power to signal and even tested to see if the subs were worn out (which I figured they weren't). The shop is saying that it has to be the amp. Has anyone had a similar issue? What could this be?

I have 3 alpine type r 2 ohms each and hiffonics brutus 1500

Assuming that when you say 2ohm you mean that both coils on the subs are 2ohm. If this is true then wire the individual subs in series to make 3 4ohm subs, then wire 'em all together in parallel to your amp so your amp will run at 1.333 ohms, and your subs will see about 400watts rms a piece, because wiring it at 1.333 ohms reduce output by about 20% but this is the best you're gonna get w/o going under amp's stability which is highly unrecommended. Besides those puppies'll still slam hard! Hope this helps...

I have a set of Alpine Type R 12 inch subs... I have a 1500 watt amp powering them but when I turn the music up, the bass cuts out. Where should I start looking for the problem?

ground is loose(most likely amp), battery running low, subs might be damaged? feel free to keep me in touch if problem occurs more after checking grounds and power source and subs. Also might need to re-tune your head unit and amp?

If an RCA took a dive your amp has most likely seen a very nasty input spike and may never be the same as its circuitry has been damaged.....sorry

2 4ohm dvc subs to a bxi 608 ( 600watt mono)

take the positive on the sub and run a wire to the other positive the run a negative to the other negative then to your pos and neg on the box do the same on the other side then tie your two positives and two neg together and you got 1ohm and that amp willl handle it all day

Hifonics Brutus BXi 1208d Amplifier

Possibly you need to return the amp and get a new one cause that could mean an internal problem and its deffective, you could try replacing the fuses or try changing the ground wire, this problem is very unusual

Okay i have a problem hifonics brutus 1500 mono d class amp

well your amplifier is obviously going into protect mode,(i used to have this amp and it is awesome) anyway i would go through just to be sure and check all the power connections with a test light, remote wire, positive, and ground. and check the fuse to see if it is still good. you can buy a test light at wal-mart and any automotive store. if you stil have a problem then i would check to see if your running below 1 ohm on this amp. that would cause it to go into protect mode. if all this fails i would just go buy a new one.
