SOURCE: Caller ID
You have to have caller from the phone company, your phone system has to support caller ID, system has to be programmed by a technician or your local telecom dealer.

It is very possible. You would have to install a RCIU card into the sytem to recognize the incoming caller ID from your provider. Then you would have to program your system for it to work properly. Do you have a DK or CTX base system.

Caller ID in POTS networks is a service which has to be subscribed to. The local exchange (to which the user's line is attached) has to allocate a DTMF sender for each and every incoming call, for it to be picked up by your phone and shown on its screen. Talk to your phone company for further informations.
Just my 2 cents... Carlos
