Question about Dell Studio Slim-Tower Desktop Computer
Most of these cables will not support signal from your computer to monitor. See notes associated with cable description at: http://www.amazon.com/A-Sonic-HDMI-HD15-Male-Cable/dp/B001OLCHJ6
If the pic of the cable at that website looks like your cable, I don't believe you will be able to make it work. You still might be able to get signal by using your LCD TV remote and change the 'input' or 'source' button until you see a picture. Good luck!

As the person above said, that video card will not work with Windows Vista. You are basically left with 2 options:
1. Downgrade the computer to Windows XP, in which the video card will work with
2. Purchase a new video card like this one
Really the choice is yours, but I would downgrade and save the $!

You may have left out a couple of steps.
Now, you need to configure the new display, by selecting "Control Panel" from the "Start" Menu. Then double-click the "Display" icon and click the "Settings" tab.
The manual for your HDMI TV will list the screen resolutions it supports, along with the refresh rates. Configure the resolution in the "Settings" tab, and then click the "Advanced" button to set the refresh rate.
If you are using the HDMI TV as the second monitor, you will also have to configure how it is used by Windows, according to the instructions pertaining to your video card. Most cards offer a "Clone" or "Mirror" mode, where both screens display the same content. Alternately, the "Extended Desktop" mode can be used, in which each monitor will operate independently.
Now, again, reboot your PC to apply the changes.
