Looks to me like you hyralocked the engine.
if you added water to the engine, and it will not turn by hand
you hydralocked it.
got water in to the induction.
do not crank any hyrdalocked engine or you will bend the rods.
stop ,think then act.
my guess, Im no TDI guy, expert but remove all glow plugs.
and get the top combustion chambers open.
then hand crank it, and see water run out of the holes you just made.
it may be too late.
water does not compress, (short of atomic explosions)
if you get water in there, some cars over 50 CC water is the end.
any water exceeding the size of the combustion chamber is doom.
my wilder guess. is you failed to read the FSM? Read first , act 2nd.
and failed to note the difference of hoses.
water, air, and vacuum.?
if you flushed the air or vacuum hoses, that is fast way to destroy
any engine, made . (water cooled)
Dont crank it, do not.
SOURCE: hilux ln130 wont start with key but will crash start
if it is automatic transmission try to start it in neutral, and see what happend, but if it come whit manual transmision, then check the cluth switch, you can by pass the switch and try to start it, if it works then replace the sw, but if not the look to see if there is a starter relay and replace it, most of this come wiht starter relay and they fail.

check the feed on the back of the alternator (live), then check the engine earth if the truck has been lifted or raised the earth will be poor. try running an earth fron the exhaust studs to a chassis member.
SOURCE: timing belt confusion
take timing belt cover off and check for binding possibley belt tention set to tight...
SOURCE: BAD ENGINE NOISE RIGHT AFTER REPLACING TIMING BELT AND WATER PUMP
if poor performance was noticed right off the bat, the timing belt is not timed properly. this will cause lack of power, rough idle, pre ignition(little noisey), and rich exhaust.youre going to need to first, find a friend or someone whom you trust to do your automotive work.second youre going to need to start over by tearing it all down systematically and taking note of anything done wrong. third find reliable information on the timing marks for this vehicle. i hope for your sake nothing is broken. let me know how this turns out, ill be happy to help further if you need.
