The battery inside you iPod has failed.

Apple store will try and get you to buy a replacement iPod rather than repair it. Although you can get a replacement battery from a number of places for around £10, eBay is a good start.
It's an awkward job to chane the battery but only takes around 30mins.

Once you replace the battery your iPod should function as normal.

My ipod wont turn on or charge.

More than likely the battery just needs to be replaced. I let my nano go dead and it was doing the same thing. So just get it replaced and that should fix your problem.

IPod Nano (1st gen) battery won't charge or show up on iTunes

Sounds like the battery may be bad. See about getting it to a shop for replacement. Also if you have an apple store in your area they will consult with you for free on this unit.

My ipod nano wont do anything

I think your ipod is dead. This happened to me to. I was listening to it when I arrived at my destination, and I thought I turned it off and I put it in my pocket. Later that day when I went to listen to it, it wouldn't turn on at all. Aparently, it had stayed on. Hold the pause button for five to ten seconds. The apple symbol will appear on your ipod. Immeadility put it in your docking station before it goes away. Your ipod will turn on, and itwill start charging.

I hope this helps. Please rate my solution.

My ipod wont turn on, I try to charge it but it doesnt even show up on the computer

Can't detect it, won't reset, won't charge, won't play... I reset mine and I had the Apple logo flash at me, and it wouldn't stop. I let my battery die and now my iPod is unresponsive...
