Max is right, you need to be more specific, but here is a generic response:
If the laptop powers on but there is no display, try connecting an external monitor and switch to it by pressing the display Fn key.
There are generally several methods for speeding things up:
1) Re-install everything.
2) Manually configure/remove start-up/unwanted items in your system.
3) Download optimization software such as Avast GrimeFighter to clean up your system automatically.
4) Add more RAM memory -- if you are using windows XP, you don't need to go above 2GB.
BTW, if you are using XP, make sure you are using Chrome or Firefox for the web, and have a good anti-virus program like Avast. Also install WinPatrol and Zonealarm.

The Acer Aspire 5100 has known motherboard problems.
If the LCD is not broken it is probably the motherboard.
Hope this solves your problem.

Try moving any photos you may have out of the "my Pictures" folder located in your documents.

The acer orbicam sometimes encounters an error when there are photos in the photo folder.

I know this may sound strange, but I have seen it happer

SOURCE: hi my acer aspire one

Remove the Battery
Sometimes the battery may get dislodged from its chamber due to some movement. This will inadvertently mean that laptop battery will not charge since it is not placed in the right position. Removing the battery and then placing it back in its place properly will show you if this was the reason why the laptop battery was not charging when plugged in. There are a number of connectors that work in tandem when the battery is being charged, and the displacement of even one of these components leads to the laptop battery not charging problem.

Refresh the Battery
Some manufacturers of laptops provide the option of refreshing the battery after it has been used for a period of time, in order to enhance and prolong its life. Read the manual that you received with your laptop and check if this service is available to you. This can be carried out by entering the BIOS or the CMOS setup, and the instructions for this will also be provided in the manual for your laptop.

Replace the Battery
In all likelihood, the reason why yours Acer Aspire One is not charging is that the battery has worn out. Like all electronic components, the laptop battery is also culpable to deterioration over time, and due to this it may not be getting charged at all. In such a situation, you have no choice but to simply replace the battery with a new one. This will solve all your problems and also give your laptop a new lease of life. You may wish to know more about how batteries work.
