SOURCE: i have a brand new

You may need to recode the remote since you changed batteries, and the newly installed batteries are new, and installed correctly.

SOURCE: remote control

I had the same problem.  The problem is strange and seems to be with the receiver in the TV and not the remote control.  The reason I say this is that when this first happened my Samsung brand DVD could actually control the TV.  This then also failed, but still works fine with the DVD player.
Anyway there is an even more bizarre fix to all this......
- Remove the batteries from your TV remote. - Press and hold the red (ON/OFF) button for at least 1 min. - Replace the batteries and hey presto!!
I know seems far fetched but I found it on the Samsung website and it does work.

Palsonic 32" model TFTV326FHD, remote sensor light just keeps flashing red when you try to turn on TV with remote. We tried new batteries, unplugging TV, other connections fine, but TV wont switch on.

The "remote sensor light" is the power indicator and it is blinking to let you know either an internal fuse is open or the power supply has failed.

My palsonic tv remote wont work even with new batteries:(

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. Surf the site with patience. In some cases, the remote control might need to clean.

I have a palsonic model no: TFTV492LED and I can't change it off AV1. I want to put it on HDMI I have no remote either.

Try the front panel button labeled Source; it's the second button from the left. (The first button is the Power button.) All of the buttons are on the right hand side of the bottom frame of the TV. Use the Channel Up/Down arrows to navigate through the list of inputs. Try waiting for the selection to take effect. (The documentation says press OK or the Volume Up button. Sometimes, the Source button on the TV functions as an OK button. This isn't clearly identified for the Palsonic.)

If the HDMI input is greyed out, the TV may not be seeing a compatible signal from the source. Try turning on the device when the TV is off, then turn on the TV. I'm not sure if this TV will correctly see the signal from a computer. However, on some laptops, you'll need to enable the external video first. This is disabled to save power. Then turn off the computer. Finally, turn on the TV before turning the computer back on.

Palsonic has the manual available for the TFTV492LED on the product (discontinued) site under the Downloads tab. See http://palsonic.com.au/archive/led-tv/tftv492led.htm . The direct link to the manual is http://palsonic.com.au/customer_service/led-instruct/Palsonic_TFTV492LED_Manual.pdf .

I hope this helps.

The TV comes on but it just says stand by and does nothing else

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. My sanyoRC-S071 remote only works some times

This could be batteries that need to be replaced (try again but standing closer to the TV to see if it works all the time), failing to aim the remote at the TV, obstructions (dirt / dust) on the remote IR transmit window or TV IR receive window.

BOUGHT A USED SHARP TV WITH THE POWER BUTTON MISSING .IT USED TO COME ON WITH REMOTE BUT EVEN WITH FRESH BATTERIES IN THE REMOTE IT WILL NOT TURN ON THE TV. DO YOU THINK THE REMOTE WENT BAD?

To power on the tv with your remote, the tv must be in stand-by. You should look if the tv is in stand by. If it is not, you should use a pen to power on the tv. (press where the button was)
hope it helps :)

Codes for palsonic televisions

Hi, that TV is not listed in the code list for your model.. You can try an automatic search by doing the following:

1. Turn off the device with which you want to use the remote control.
2. Press and hold the corresponding button on the remote control
(TV, VCR, SAT, DVD, CAB or AUD) until POWER INDICATOR illuminates. The
remote control is in programming mode
3. Press and release power. The POWER INDICATOR flashes once and stays on
indicating the unit is in Power Scan mode.
4. Press CHANNEL + or CHANNEL - repeatedly until the device turns on.
5. When the device turns on, press OK to store the code.
If the device responds, the remote control has been
programmed. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 2-5.
